CORDOVA HIGH SCHOOL
Class of 1970

JULY 21-23, 2000
REUNION 2000

A RESOUNDING SUCCESS! Was the overall consensus of the combined class reunion for Cordova Sr. High Classes of 1969 (31 years) and 1970 (30 years).

In 1989 the Class of 69 held it's own 20-year reunion and the Lancer Snooper was on hand. Eleven years later the "snooper" was at it again and was pleasantly surprised at the difference in the folks from the greatest class ever. Everyone had grown in wisdom and tolerance and there was a definite feeling in the air of genuine caring, a renewal of friendships and forming of new ones. No one seemed concerned with petty, non-important issues. We remembered all the good times and some not so good ones; everybody seemed positive and optimistic about their lives thus far and the next century as well.

Over the three days of reunion activities, we gathered at the School's flagpole on Friday July 21st to laugh and start getting re-acquainted and watch the cheerleaders from the Class of 1970 do a few cheers, we all sang the school's alma mater and were wowed as Joy McElwee popped into her famous splits at the end of the cheers! From there, we all headed for an informal get together at Rudy's Hideaway where we received excellent service and stayed many hours laughing and talking.

Saturday afternoon found us gathering at the Radisson Hotel for a sumptuous banquet and dancing… Competition was strong for the Lancers who won the following coveted titles:

FARTHEST TRAVELED
Bill Paavola

MOST CHILDREN
Steve Lascola
MOST MARRIAGES
Denny Dew
MOST IN NEED OF ROGAINE
Bobby Long
BIGGEST GOAT ROPER
Bob Nesbitt
MOST GRANDKIDS

BEST PRESERVED
Chuck Talley and Patti Steele
