The Journey Continues in London... |
|
|

The Parliament Building rises over the Thames. On our bus tour of London (very tired, since we were right off the plane), we stopped at some of the major sites, such as this one. |

On the left, the most famous icon of London, the clock tower containing Big Ben. We learned that Big Ben is actually the name of the largest bell in the tower, not the clock. After the bus tour, we took a short cruise on the Thames. On the right, Shakespeare's Globe is seen from the Thames during the cruise. |

The stage of the Globe is shown here. On our second day in London, we visited the Globe. The students took an acting workshop with one of the companies' actors, followed by a tour of the facility. This was one of our favorite parts of the trip. |

On the left, Thad and Cathy seem like groundlings as they look up over the edge of the stage. The stage is just about the right height to lean on if you were right next to it--very close to the actors indeed! On the right, a detail of some of the decorative artwork and sculpting of the Globe. |
