The Journey Continues...
The Union Jack flies high over the Tower of London as seen from the Thames.  Half of the students visited the Tower the next day while the other half went to Westminster Abbey.
Inside the Tower of London, a sentry stands guard on the left.  On the right, a "beefeater" is seen watching the crowds.  The beefeaters dress in an ancient uniform and take groups on guided tours of the major parts of the Tower, telling the goriest stories from its past.
The underground station entrance on Tower Hill.  We used the underground extensively on our day in London to get to the various sights we had time to see.
The exterior of the British Museum, where our two groups rejoined in the afternoon.  We spent as long as we could there, but with miles of passages to different exhibits from all over the globe, the best we could do was scratch the surface.
Cathy and Tiffany stand by one of the exhibits in the British Museum.  It's amazing what you will find here!  We all stood and stared at the Rosetta Stone for the longest time.  When you hear about something all your life and then actually see it, it's daunting.  After the museum, we went out for tea and then to the West End to see Les Miserables.  Thus ended our stay in London, and we boarded a train the next morning for Edinburgh.  It was a six hour trip, not counting the fact that we initially got on the wrong train and had to be picked up later by the right one!  Talk about embarrassing.
