River Trash 2002
It wasn't Steve Winwood in Traffic.  It wasn't even Steve Mahns in traffic, but it was everyone else in traffic as River Trash 2002 kicked off during the third weekend in July.

Bad weather and too many cars caused many a camper to arrive later than anticipated, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the 30 plus who set up for a weekend of spirits and water frolic.
A few from team "609".
Preparations for the early Saturday morning shove off.
This could easily be a shot from any year in the Scarangella led 19 seasons of RT.  Above Craig and Mahns stock the days supplies.  Right, pretty much par for the course on the Delaware.
Bretzger in the aweful hat and Gordo with his gay-ass umbrella.  Jerry and Justine floating in background.  Far right, group enjoys some chow at "lunch rock 02".  Once we got past the "pull you off if you go too slow" spot, chow was served.
Chip and Gordo on "The Rock".  Group enjoys favorite malt beverage near fire, that nearly claimed the lives of several earlier in the day (See Christmas Vacation tree torched scene).
Below Gordo displays the number of beers packed for the weekend.
Gentlemen and ladies of River Trash 2002.

Yearly RT highlight is the Sunday morning breakfast at Yetters Diner, about an hour south of our Landers Campsite.  We recommend the French Toast and clean bathrooms.
Worse shades ever stem from a 1982 $1.00 purchase.  Through the years as the screws fell out, safety pins kept them together, which goes against "punk rock statement" lore.  These babies have been lost and found IN the river at least a dozen times, including the 02' trip.
