Bears Win!

Wiffleball III was a huge success.  Four teams and fans alike were treated to some great weather, tunes, brewskis, and chow. Here's how the teams fared...

Bears 6    Two Sheas 1
Two Sheas pitched poorly giving up jacks to JoeyDak and Whitey.  Exceptional effort in field by Howie still couldn't rally the bats, and the highly regarded Sheas fall.

A-Holes 2     Pha-Kings 1

Pitchers duel sees Czop strikeout 10 of 12 batters faced.  Keannealy sends 9 down, but not Mike of the A-Holes, who homers in opener.

Pha Kings 1     Bears 0
Keanally shuts down Bears with 8 K's, and drives in only run by blasting one off Whitey.

Two Sheas 3     A-Holes 2
Sheas's prevail with walk off homer by Johnny.  Czop and Lenny also leave the yard of field B.  Lenny K's 7 and Johnny 6 in winning effort.

Pha Kings 5     Two Sheas 0
Two Sheas deteriorate rapidly as Tank K's 6 and is backed by the jack of Eddie Stix Davis.

Bears 6     A-Holes  0
Bears roll over A-Holes who don't show up for this one.  Czopper goes 7 for 8, but poor pitching and defense by Lenny and Mike end all hopes for victory.  Lombo goes distance in shutout.

A-Holes KO Two Sheas in Losers Bracket
Johnny Shea goes postal as Bombers Bail first in tourney

Bears 9     A-Holes 2
Bears lock in on Lenny and play stellar in field to send Keystone State squad packing.

Pha Kings 2     Bears 0
Bears find Tank's slow junk unhittable.  Keneally and Schultz to back to back on consequetive pitches for the victory.

Bears 6     Pha Kings 0
The Championship Series opens on field A, and is ripped with controversy. With the Bears up 1-0, Stix Davis makes what appears to be a stop in right for an out, ending the inning.  However, after needling him a bit, he admits to bobbling the ball.  Runners declared safe, bases loaded, and Whitey clears them all with a GS Bomb to deep left field for game one, and the momentum.

Bears 1     Pha Kings 0
In a pitchers duel, Keneally and Whitey each throw 6 scoreless innings, sending the tourney into the day's only HR derby.  Pha Kings can't put any of their 15 pitches out to open the 7th.  On Joey DaK's first offering to Whitey, the game is over with a bomb over the field fence and into the front yard.  Game, Set, Match...  The Bears win WBIII over a gutty Pha Kings Squad!
Keneally, Stix, Balls!, and Tank of the Pha Kings suprized  many by placing 2nd.
Above, the face of victory of Whitey with fan Susan.  Below, Mike of the A-Holes shows his thoughts on the day's events.
