The Race
It's just like drag racing, except,
after completing the quarter mile,
you keep on going
for another eighty nine and three quarters miles!
On a highly crowned two lane road,
with long sweeping turns
and even longer straight sections between them,
and a twisty section called the "Narrows"
with vertical rock outcroppings instead of guard rails
on both sides of the road.
With some tricky desert winds and a fifteen hundred foot elevation change,
things can get pretty interesting.
Probably the most fun you could ever have
while wearing a seat belt and helmet!
From the green flag                         to the checkered,
the only way to have more fun than this
would be to do it naked!

.......HHHmmmmmmm?

This gray dot is George Collins'
Honda Prelude on his way to 2nd place in the 125mph class in Sept.1999

Twice each year, this is a very busy place!
After pre-staging, and staging,
you reach this point.
Here, you're given a last lookover
and any final instructions
before moving up to the starting line.
When the green flag drops you go!
In a few seconds, you're up to speed and
yeeehah!!!
MORE!!!! FASTER!!!!
And then you're hooked! You'll be back!
