The Palace of Versailles
is on the outskirts of Paris, and it is short train ride to get there
from the center of the city. The palace and grounds are massive,
so
you should allow plenty of time to explore. I was quite impressed
with
the lavish furnishings in the palace and the beautiful gardens.
The
hall of mirrors was where the treaty of Versailles was signed to end
World War I. I would strongly advise that you visit the palace
off-season or during the week. It was extremely crowded when we
visited on a Sunday afternoon in August.
