Well, we are usually the last place you come for actual information, which is the way we like it. However, I still feel compelled to clue you into stuff now and again. So, here I go.

  1. On Wednesday, Apolo was in Seattle to help break ground for a new Ronald McDonald House being built there. If you haven’t seen it already, here is the link to an article about the event. It includes a couple of pictures and a link to a video report. Hopefully you have a fast connection and can view the video. It just reaffirms he has the sweetest soul.
Racci noticed the article talks about how the RMH project still needs more than a $1 million to complete construction, yet it provides no info on how you or I can help. So, we found some information on our own. So, if you want to learn more, just click here, or stay tuned. I just emailed RMH Charities for information on making a specific donation.
  2. Our crackerjack correspondent, Angelpie, found this bit of sad news. The original author of the Nancy Drew mysteries, Mildred Wirt Benson (pen name Carolyn Keene), passed away Tuesday. As you might have noticed, her very first Nancy Drew story, The Secret of the Old Clock, is under our Book List. Nancy Drew is a great character, and a great fantasy figure for young super-sleuths. Thanks for your words, Mildred. Read all about her here.

    Intriguing tidbit:
Note the name of the paper for which she was working. Weird, huh?

Note: For both articles above, you may be required to register on the King 5 site from which they come. However, it is quick, free, and worth it.

  3. If you weren’t aware, the Hawaiian word “ono” (pronounced the same as you-know-who) is an adjective meaning sweet and palatable. Crazy.
  4. The other day I was zoning out on MTV2. For the first time ever I saw the video for Blur’s “Coffee & TV” from their CD 13. I have always loved that song, but the video is beyond adorable. There is this poor little milk carton running around, getting lost in the big city, finding trouble and danger. I will never look at dairy products the same way again. During the same zone-out session, I saw that The Hives are giving a live concert on MTV2 Sunday night. Woo! I’ve had Veni Vidi Viscious for about four months now. I listen to it about every day and am still not sick of it. They rock royal. Can’t wait to see what they are like live.
  5. I saw the link for this old, pre-Olympic story on a Yahoo group board. It really is a nice article. Sets up the Ohno legend nicely. Click here.

Just went live with the new navigation and banner for Voyeur. Whew!

Now, I'm off to archive this poor old Babble page.

6 p.m. - Holy Mary, Mother of God! We have passed 10K visitors on Dark Blades. It went right over our heads. Good gravy! What can we say? Thanks for stopping by, guys!

Hey, Apolo, what do you think about all this?

“It's crazy!”

4 p.m. - Hi there!

It’s raining right now at DB HQ. Sky is gray. Cool and breezy.

It’s been a weird weekend. I guess it is still going on for most of you. Yahoo’s Geocities started freaking out Friday, and Yahoo hasn’t bothered to explain why. Looks like Geocities members, including paying ones like myself, are experiencing random non-viewable pages. This has affected Dark Blades Weaver Babble and Voyeur pages.

When I saw what was happening I posted up this mock Babble page for you to read. I’ll continue working on the problem today. I knew I would eventually have to, but I guess I’ll be archiving the Babble entries, plus busting out new navigation in Voyeur.

We did get up some new navigation in Fantasy Pics this weekend. Plus I just posted up a new Music scenario.

Happy Memorial Day for those of you in the United States! Happy regular day for those of you elsewhere. :)

The June/July of Jane has some fabulous content. They actually have quite a few pics of semi-naked guys. Some are completely repugnant, others are . . . intriguing. Jane makes a point of providing you the page numbers to all the semi-nude dude pics on the front cover. That's Jane, always thinking about her readers. I particularly like the pic on page 82. Plus, Jane forecasts a most excellent horoscope for me.

“Between June 14 and July 10, you enter a serious Hugh Hefner phase — minus the robes and false teeth. Don't freak yourself out with morals, just get down to business . . .”

- Suzanne Gerber for Jane

Ahhh, so I'll just sit here and smoke my female chauvinist pipe waiting for June 14. *puff puff*

The horoscope also indicates that if Apolo (a Gemini) and I (the Aries) were together we would have a high-maintenance relationship that includes incredible sex and drunken phone calls at 4 a.m. Only if . . . *sigh*

We are still building out some new stuff for the site. Just keep checking back. Cheers!

11 p.m. - New updates: one new Fantasy Pic and one new Distraction.

3 p.m. - Hi there. Well, you know I’m not perfect, but I did get up some new Music Scenarios for you to read. We hope you will dig them.

I am still working on posting new stuff up; it is just taking a while. I will keep updating the Babble as I make the updates.

I hope you are all having a good day. Oh, and . . .

Happy birthday to you, Apolo! Welcome to your 20s. Glad you could join us. Honestly, I hope you aren't reading this message. However, if you are, we hope you have a wonderful day wherever you are, whatever you are doing. Thanks for being born.

Hi. Boy, we have been slacking off at Dark Blades. Sorry, but inspiration just comes in waves, and we have a philosophy here on waiting for the best wave. Well, fortunately we think we have caught a few blessed crests. So, tomorrow in honor of Apolo’s birthday (and don’t pretend you didn’t know) we are going to debut NEW STUFF!!! I know. It’s unbelievable, but true.

Thanks to everyone for hanging in with us during our drought these last few weeks. You will be handsomely rewarded.

Hey! I got a new toothbrush yesterday. If you don’t already know what color it is, then you just haven’t been doing your Apolo trivia homework. Tsk. Tsk.

If you haven’t seen it already and have a DSL connection, I recommend checking out this streaming video of Apolo on CNN. It was from the morning he rang the bell at the NYSE. Just click here.

Take care! See you all tomorrow!

1 a.m. Happy super early Tuesday!

Ohno she didn't! Awe, damn! LOL! Our wild friend Lucy just wrote a mad-crazy take on ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and included me in the send up. Check it out here on Ohno Zone. Thanks, Lucy!   :)

11:30 p.m. Happy super late Monday night!

Just wanted to confirm that I have been a total slug about updating the site for a while now. Sorry. It’s not that I don’t want to. I just have a hughmongo list of things to accomplish here, and it’s got me a bit stymied. Sometimes I just log on and stare wondering, “Oh my. What have I done?”

However, thanks to all the Dark Blades supporters, admirers, and contributors out there, we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. It keeps us going when we get your groovy emails, fun guest book entries, or see great posts about Dark Blades on any one of the many message board/forums out there. You guys make our day!

In fact, check this thread out on the Apolo Fans forum regarding our latest Fantasy Pic. It makes me laugh. People think I’m sick! LOL! They have no idea what sick is. I’ve seen sick, and he’s downright fugly. I’m a pink frosted cupcake in comparison (with rainbow sprinkles no less). Albeit, this thread on Apolo Fans still gives me the guffaws.

As far as site updates go, I am gonna stop promising I’ll have something new up tomorrow. Just keep checking in and hopefully I will get something new out there this week.

Cheers!

A little while back, Noelle (from here on out known as Mrs. Zone) pointed out this picture to me. Apparently that highly debated Sean John shirt Apolo wore at his Oakbrook Mall autograph signing in Chicago carried some subliminal messages. I’m like, “Damn, Apolo. There ain’t no need to advertise it, baby. We all got the memo, like, three months ago.” The good news is, at the least, this confirms he wants it, too. Awe yeeeaaaah . . .

Okay, I have to confess something. I am the shittiest bloody girlfriend in the world. Andrew’s birthday was Thursday, and I didn’t say nuthin’. Such a biatch. So, happy belated birthday my sweet, crazy, bloody boy!

To help celebrate, go visit him here. He talks to Playboy about sex. After reading it, I knew I wanted him all the more. So vulnerable, so sweet, so dangerous. The guy is gonna force me to bust out a whole new page dedicated just to him.

Now, when is Apolo gonna do his Playboy interview? And when are both he and Andrew gonna take it off for Playgirl? These questions demand answers!

Have good Saturday! Check back in tomorrow!

1:30 a.m. Happy super early Monday morning!

What a difference a day can make. If anyone was concerned, yes, I got to see and tape the second half of the “Superstars Competition” that aired Sunday. *purrrrrrrrrrrr* Shirtless. Wet. Corn rows. And, man, oh, man, all the thugliness. (Credit to the Down Lo Chicas for coining that Apoloized word.) *Meow!* I was spellbound. I actually caught myself sucking my thumb at one point.

I got a tip for those that missed half *raises hand in shame* or sadly all of the Superstars thingy. Both parts will be re-airing on June 22 and 23 again on CBS.

Then there was the cherry on top of the All-Apolo-Weekend, the “Jamie Kennedy Experiment.” It was a tiny little cherry, but I devoured its sweetness all the same.

Now what? What can you do until the next Apolo appearance/event in your life? Well, we just put up a new scenario on the Music page. I recommend checking that out. We have tons of content we are about to release. So, just stay tuned this week as we slowly deploy more Dark Blades goodness.

5 p.m. Friday I could not find a copy of People’s 50 beauties. I went to five different stores. None. Plus, I completely missed Apolo’s CNN interview, as I had no idea it was going to be on. It was a day that clearly sucked. On top of that, Thursday night, my bloody boyfriend didn’t appear for his live chat session. Could things get worse?

Then Friday turned into today, Saturday. I had to get up and be at a grad school seminar at 8 a.m. (This is not a good hour for a night dweller like me, no matter how soon I go to sleep.) I was going mainly to be company for a friend. However, I am a bit undecided about my own future, so I thought I’d go and see what my options are. My original plans were to head to law school in the fall, but I am reconsidering my interests and focus. Thinking about a master’s in journalism.

My understanding of the event was completely wrong. This was not a general overview of the grad school programs being offered at the local university. It was a lecture of sorts on the benefits of a master’s in INFORMATION SYSTEMS. No offense to any info. syst. people, but GACK! It was painful torture. My friend felt badly for dragging me there, so she offered to take me to see “Spider-Man.” That was great with me. That would more than made up for it. No prob.

Wow. So, many little kids in the theater. Two of them behind me had parents that thought their children’s kicking the backs of seats was the most adorable thing on Earth. The little monkeys also discovered that they could scurry their nubby fingers across my shoulders like tiny spiders at various points in the movie, getting me to jump out of my seat. Grrrr. Kids don’t know, though. So, my damnation is offered to the parents. Damn you, mother fuckers!

Quick “Spider-Man” review: In New York last year, I had actually been part of a screening group for the trailer. I was completely entranced by the one scene where Spider-Man is hanging upside down while Mary Jane has his mask pulled just passed his lips and is smooching him in the pouring rain. That is so damn sexy to me. So, I have been waiting ever since to see it again. On the whole, the movie is good. Good comic book fun. However, that one scene is still my fav, and made the entire movie for me. (P.S. Not sure, but I think Apolo’s ass and thighs were used as a stand in for several action scenes. *Meow!*)

So, anyway. I finally get home this afternoon. Luckily, when I got up this morning, I remembered to set the VCR for the “Superstars Competition.” I got myself all settled on the couch to relax, turned on the TV, played the tape . . . Do you recall what I said earlier about Friday? . . .

I had set the VCR to record on the WRONG FUCKING CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so fucking tired this morning, I set the fucker to the wrong fucking channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed it. I completely fucking missed it!! Why, God?! WHY?!!! I have gone so long without a solid Apolo fix. *tears welling up in eyes* Yet, when an All-Apolo-Weekend comes along, I am denied, denied, denied. Why? Why? Why? This is not fair! *throwing self on bed in a dramatic swoon, sobbing like a kid left at day care for the first time, suddenly throwing head up for more drama* SCREAM! WHAAAAAAA!!!! *Despondent. Inconsolable.* Why am I being punished like this? What have I done?! *Throws face back into pillows. Sobs continue indefinitely . . .*

6 p.m. I am dry, numb. Tears have stopped, but the mourning continues. In an effort to pull it together, I grab a 10 spot, my keys, and skulk out the door. I head to a store I hadn’t tried Friday. I think to myself, “If they don’t have the People mag, I’m gonna, I’m gonna . . . *sob*.” I walk into the store, sunglasses masking my puffy eyes, but only enhancing my red nose and swollen lips. Just a few steps to the left, then *angels singing, rays of heavenly light* there it is! Trying to remain calm, I coolly grab a copy and slowly make my way down the baby food and diaper aisle. Opening to page 99, stopping, sighing, muscles relaxing from my head to my feet . . . Okay, maybe, maybe I can make it.

Later, I think, “What drama I am capable of! So many things in this world truly worthy of my pain, but this silliness is what gets my attention? I must be going insane,” Then I think, “I am insane. I don’t ever want to be rid of it.”

Sweet Lord in Heaven! If you haven’t seen it, well, heck, here it is:

Yep. This is Apolo in the “50 Most Beautiful People” ish of People mag, coming out tomorrow. I am going to have to run out and buy five copies so I’ll at least have one left to look at after I’ve licked the ink off the first four. When I first saw this pic on Ohno Zone yesterday (Thanks Noelle & Todd!), my face went numb. I am not lying. He so totally knows what he is doing. Look at that face. I know you want me. Go ahead. Come get me. *purr x 10*

Anyone catch my bloody boyfriend on Politically Incorrect the other night? He didn’t get to say much. However, he came off very considerate and thoughtful. He just has the best smile. (Okay, okay, second best, Apolo.) I loved how Carrie Fisher kept touching him, flirting, and him flirting back. It was cute. She was so drunk. It was a hoot.

Tonight, I get to participate in an “invitation-only” online chat with Andrew. I get to ask one question. I still don’t know what to ask. There is a chance it won’t get posted, so I want to come up with the most excellent question ever ensuring it makes the chat and that Andrew would answer it. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. The chat starts at 5:30 p.m. PST. So, if you read this before then and think you have a cool question, pass me an email would ya,?
