ART AND TECHNOLOGY, IDEAS AND IMAGES, NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART, MUMBAI, 2000
This site specific work was installed as part of the 'Art and Technology' exhibition of the 'Ideas and Images', National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai in August 2000.
The 50 split mirrors were positioned at the base of the dome of the gallery, to catch the reflection of the dome and works in the gallery at the same time.
A pair of binoculars placed at the top of a 10 foot ladder formed the ritualistic ascent to view the images collected in the 50 postcard sized mirrors.
Horizon 1 is a first of a series of works which respond to the site and create images by way of reflection, collection and magnification.
