Hitomi Furuya
(1976) |
Hitomi (Furuya) is a Japanese fashion idol, and pop singer. Most
Japanese pop singers go for the `cute` look but she's gone for a
sexy Kylie Minogue like image, but sexier. This probably makes
her more popular with Japanese men than ladies.
|
Rei Kikukawa
(1978) |
Rei Kikukawa's not so well know
amongst foreigners in Japan. She appears constantly in dramas
and movies rather than commercials. Her features and qualities
(and her screen roles) have an adorably `traditional
Japanese` appearance.
|
Ryoko Yonekura
(1975) |
Ryoko
Yonekura is well known in the fashion world. Her beautiful face
often appears on t.v. commercials and dramas. Her dancing ability
would make her the ideal candidate for Japan's dirty dancing
role.
|
Makiko Tanaka
(1944) |
Makiko Tanaka is Japan's most
famous female politician. Japan is a tough country for women to
succeed in business or politics, but she's done it.
She's in the midst of her second year band from politics for
corruption charges but expected to return.
|
Akiko Wada
(1950) |
Akiko Wada is Japanese but doesn't possess the typically shy,
reserved nature of most Japanese ladies. She appears regularly
on talk shows where she expresses her opinions loudly and is
Japan's most talented (only?) female blues singer.
|
Hikaru Utada
( 1983 ) |
Utada Hikaru, unlike many young
female singers in Japan, keeps making one successful album
after another. She's sold millions of albums and made
millions. She grew up in New York so her English songs are very
well known by English speakers living in Japan. She's putting a
lot of effort and money trying to break into the American
market. In my opinion she's the best singer in Japan but
the American market has a lot more talent than Japan.
|
Seiko Matsuda
( 1962 ) |
Seiko Matsuda looks like her daughter's (Sayaka) sister. Both
Seiko and Sayaka are beautiful ladies with youthful looks, as
well as being famous singers.
|
|
Ai Iijima
( 1971 ) |
Iijima Ai started by making over 100 porn movies between the
ages of 18-20. She is now one of the most familiar faces on
Japanese television. What do you learn about Japan? `She doesn't
need to be embarrassed about her past in Japan!` ?
|
Norika Fujiwara
(1971) |
Norika Fujiwara is, arguably, the most beautiful lady in Japan.
Miss Japan '92. Her role as a sexy high school teacher and her
endless number of tv commercials send male fantasies through the
roof.
|
Nanako
Matsushima
(1973)
|
Nanako Matsushima started as a cute
18 year old on a beer commercial. Nowadays, she's appearing in
many more commercials, as well as tv dramas and movies.
|
Sukarno
(1940) |
Sewi Sukarno (Born Naoko Nemoto)
worked in a hostess bar (like many young Japanese girls still do
nowadays) when she met her future husband, the president of
Indonesia. She has more money, and more courage to discuss
gossip and speak out than most Japanese care to dream about.
|
Chitose Hajime
(1979) |
Hajime Chitose grew up on an island in southern parts of Japan.
Her songs reflect the unassuming and tropical atmosphere of
those islands. Listen to her, if you have the chance!
|
Namie Amuro
(1977) |
Namie Amuro joined a girl group at the age of 15, then later
become a solo pop singer. She was the goddess for Japanese
teenage girls during the 90's, possibly responsible for all the
fashion trends in that decade.
|
Rie Miyazawa
(1973) |
Rie Miyazawa has a Japanese mother
and Dutch father. She was earning incredible amounts of money
doing commercials at the age of 18 and continued her career to
become, arguable, Japan's best movie actress. Her book is the
biggest seller of all nude photo books in Japan's history.
|
Miho Nakayama
(1970) |
Miho Nakayama is worthy of being
called a talent. She started as a teen idol, has appeared in
commercials and dramas and made numerous pop and Jazz albums. |
