Physical Description: 5'10", 130, slight build, light skin but tans well, pale blond hair which always gets into his eyes, cut short on back, blue-green eyes. Heart shaped face like his father, is more athletic but isn't overly strong. He always wears casual clothing even around the Hold, but usually has a Hold badge somewhere on him, and if he is in another Hold he always goes formal.

Emotional/Mental Description: Relaxed, sensible but somewhat addled. He is a "good kid" in many senses of the word: he's kind, generous, observant and friendly. He's also his father's son. He is no schemer, but he is clever where it counts, and can pull stunts out of a hat when no one expects it. He can be surprisingly caustic or hot tempered if the conditions become too much for him to handle. But like his father, he handles most situations with ease. He is perfectly relaxed with the idea that he's the Holder's heir, and while he has in fact been under attack at times by rivals of the Hold, he somehow manages to escape mostly unharmed every time.

Skills: He is adept with a pen and artist's quill, and has completed a bit of Harpers training in that respect. He too is a terrific judge of character, however his reaction to certain people is less practiced than his father's. He rarely holds back when there is something needing to be said, and is adept at being a good "shoulder to cry on". Otherwise his training mirrors his father's.

History: Born barely before the Threadfall started, he has never known a time when the Red Star wasn't so clear in the sky. His childhood was filled with intrigue because of his father's travels among the Holds and Weyrs of the south and north. He has always loved dragons and started with drawing them, now hoping to ride. He is able to devote himself to the task of riding, and is absolutely prepared to do both that and lead the Hold. He and a number of girls in the Hold have been "set up" by various people, but his interest in the opposite sex has yet to truly manifest itself. He is waiting for the 'right girl' who may just be a Goldrider or even a green rider who catches his future dragon's eye.

Notes and Special Information: Karyle's rooms are always brightly colored and filled with objects from other Holds and Weyrs, and are constantly changing. He is good enough with his artistry that his own work decorates a number of rooms in the Hold, but he doesn't consider them all that great. As another totally different note, he does not seem to have overly much of his father's psionic ability, and seems to also be immune to it. The only manifistation of this ability he seems to carry is that he is something of a "weirdness magnet", and odd things find themselves happening to him on a fairly regular basis.

Pets/Hobbies/Posessions: he does not have a pet, since he's more into objects than creatures. His hobby is his art, and his posessions will include the Hold itself.

BACK to Alabaster Folk

It's been so busy around the Hold. Sorry, the Weyrhold, like my father is trying to get us to say. It is a weyr hold, too. Now that we have a few riders coming back from their weyrling training! Kalkin says that they will bring strength back to the weyr, and I believe him. My father doesn't like me talking to him, but I'm not afraid. I just got J'zin's letter from Aden Weyr! He's so excited, and I'm really happy for him. I think I will take a trip out there, just to see his bronze! I can't believe it! Well, he said that Leilani also Impressed a gold! Wow... Our first Gold rider! D'lon is going to come home soon with his bronze Dalinoth, since the mating flights at Jerdan are a little too mature for him. He doesn't like the thought that some older girl is going to be flirting with him just because of a dragons feelings... I don't know about that stuff either, it's kind of spooky how girls get anyway... G'ed has come back with his brown Lorenth, and his wife Syncha is pretty thrilled, though I think she's a little worried that his time will be taken up now. He's a great drummer, I hope he can do both. Lo'pez and his Brown Lilioth will come home with Leilani's gold Diamoth, they make such a great couple... I hope their dragons don't pull them apart. I mean, they are from the same clutch, aren't they? I don't know what to think about them mating... Shim and blue Dioath are doing great here already, as the night dragon. They don't need to use their special eye wear. I was really interested in seeing what could be done with them, and it looks like they're all good to go! Ger'in's brown Nerimenth might stick around Talor Cliffs long enough to have a flight, I don't know what we'll do if he becomes a weyr leader, though! We need him here! Then again, Blue Natonith and brown Bicath have been terrorizing everyone with their riders J'von and A'rik because they're so happy to be home from Everest. I just wonder who will Impress next! Well, off I go to join J'zin and see these dragons at Aden!
