The safest and most efficient boiler is the flash boiler. As the name implies, steam is quickly available. This has many advantages. The first advantage is that steam is available quickly instead of having to wait. That is accomplished by having very little water to heat and a lot of surface area. Coiled tubing with the water in the tubing is the flash boiler. By not having a lot of water, there is no danger of an explosion. The flash boiler is a quick responder to steam demands. By having a lot of surface area, it can still produce equivalent volumes of steam. The second advantage is the flash boiler can be made relatively small. The flash boiler is capable of being made small enough to fit in a chimney. This is our boiler of choice. The flash boiler has the highest safety rating and provides steam of sufficient volume and pressure for the independent home provider. By having it run horizontal, the capabilities are increased. The outside should be insulated or a water jacket placed around the outside to retain the heat and increase efficiencies. This configuration can also be chained or put two or more together to increase the output without risking explosions. The other half of a good boiler is the plumbing.
