Hey everybody - I found some great new websites! One is based on A and E's TV show THE INCURABLE COLLECTOR.
This is a really good program that features everyday people and the ordinary things that they collect, not just pricey antiques!*Remember those old novels from the 40's and 50's featuring hard-boiled detectives such as Mike Shayne? Who could forget those lurid covers? If you're a fan of them as I am, wander over to THRILLING DETECTIVE - you're in for a real treat!*Here's an interesting new site from TV GUIDE. It has write-ups on all your favourite shows from the 50's - 70's, and be sure to check out their Classic TV Guide Covers section!*Here's a new website that I found. It's based on the British show BARGAIN HUNT. The only station I've been able to find it on is PBS (channel 17 in New York), shown every Saturday at 4 P.M. EST. Two teams are given 200 Pounds (about $410 CDN) to spend, and they have to buy stuff at a flea market that they think will make money when it's put up for auction the following week. The team that makes the most profit is the winner and gets to keep the money. It's all good, silly fun. Tune in and you'll be amazed at the prices they pay for some of the stuff!*A good site if you're looking to buy collectible Barbies is VOGUE COLLECTIBLES. I get some of my dolls there and their prices are good, especially if you're paying with US dollars, and they do ship anywhere. I recently got the Desi/Lucy dolls for $50 CDN ($33 US) which I thought was a great price. Check out some of their bonus specials!
