Heavens Very Special Child
A meeting was held quite far from earth
It's time again for another birth
Said the angels to the Lord above
This special child will need much love
Her progress may be very slow
and she will require extra care
From the parents she gets down there
She may not run or laugh or play
Her thoughts may seem quite far away
In many ways she won't adapt
and she'll be known as handicap.
So lets be careful where she's sent
we want her life to be content
Please Lord find parents who
Will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away
The leading role their asked to play
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love
And soon they knew the privilege given
In caring for the gift from heaven
So meek and mild
She's heavens Very Special Child
This site is in honor of parents who are struggling to raise children who are chronically ill. And to let you know we are here for you.
Many people are struggling day to day
to make their children comfortable and sometimes need a little
support from people other then doctors.
My little sister, Destinee, is fighting
for her life everyday. She has Vater Syndrome-Vacterl. You can read her full story HERE. I help my mother take care of Destinee and I want to also
help you by being there for you & your sick child.
We, as mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, who are experiencing the illnesses of our children, have a close bond to each other. We are our own support system.
After Destinee was diagnoised, people would say to me "I don't know how you do it, and take care of her!" Well, what choices do we have?

"Our Oath"
JUST FOR TODAY--
I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my
whole life problems at once.
I can do something for twelve hours that
would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham
Lincoln said, that, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."
JUST FOR TODAY--I will adust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my "luck" as it comes, and fit myself to it.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do someone a good turn, and not get found out, if anybody knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I don't want to do- just for exercise. If my feelings are hurt, I will not show it.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests; hurry and indecision.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will have a quiet half hour all by myself, and relax. During this half hour, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will be unafraid. Especially will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the
world will give to me.
JUST FOR TODAY--I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything and not try to improve or regulate anybody except myself.
YESTERDAY-----TODAY-----TOMORROW
There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One of these is Yesterday with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders its aches
and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world
can not bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed, we cannot erase a single word we said....Yesterday is gone!
The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise. Until it does, we have no state in Tomorrow for it is
yet unborn.
This leaves one day...TODAY. Any man can fight the battle of just one day. It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternitlies...Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of TODAY that drives us mad - it is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YRSTERDAY and the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.
LET US, THEREFOUR, LIVE BUT ONE DAY AY A TIME!!!!
ONE DAY AT A TIME
Any person can fight
the battles of just one day,
It is when we add
the burdens of Yesterday
and Tomorrow
that we break down.
It is not the experience of today
that drives people mad--
it is the remorse of bitterness
for something which happened yesterday,
and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore, live
ONE DAY AT A TIME
