This is probably one of my most exciting and hearttfelt memories of Dale... After 19 years, on his 20th attempt... Dale celebrated his Daytona 500 win in 1998. Mike Skinner summed it up in victory lane... when he pointed to Dale and said... "You're the Man!!". The tribute on pit road on the way to victory lane was one that every Nascar fan shall remember forever.
Team DEI... and Team Monte Carlo... The Driving Force... show 'em "The INTIMIDATOR Way"
And Wooooohoooo Kevin Harvick (#29) Goodwrench Monte Carlo... I liked the car in white, but it looks bad to da bone with the new paint. He's BACK in BLACK!!
Johnny Benson said no-one could possibly pass on the outside at Daytona without drafting help. Well I believe that Junior had the best help there is at a "plate race"...

I have my favs, but I just like the sport in general, no other sport show's it's appreciation for the fans like NASCAR... thank you Bill Sr. & Bill Jr. May your dream continue to flourish and prosper.
To battle these drivers with courage... wits... raw nerves... strong bumpers... and in some cases absolute determination...
To become champion... it means you have succeeded... over come the odds... to be the GREAT one for that year... To be the BEST.
For some... they may not reach that goal... they may fall short and 2nd is as close as they will ever be... some will win one... some even two... and some even three... but to win 7 Nextel Cup Trophy's... that is... well that is...
Greatness...

It reminded me that we can't forget the local dirt trackers (and the wives and families that support them...) that kick up the dust in just about every small town of America... it's where Nascar® has it roots, and it's Great Friday or Saturday nite entertainment... nothing better than goin' and watching an exciting nite of weekend warriors, bashing and banging their way through the heat races trying desperatley to get into the Main... and then sitting around after the car is loaded and BS'n about the nites events... arguing over the beers as to who banged who comin' out of four, or who turned who goin' into turn one... There's something to be said for the local Heros... Don't stop doin' what you are doin'.... there's some kid in that grand stand every friday nite that smiles when he see's your car pull onto the track, and cheers and screams his head off everytime your bright colored car blurs by... thinking to himself the whole time. "Man!! When I grow up..."
So keep on tearin' up the dirt boys... but keep it between the guardrails and on all four skids... you'll always have a grandstand full of fans!!! Have Fun and RACE YOUR HEART OUT!!! But MOST Important!! God Bless and Be Safe!!
