Setting: USS ANUBIS, Rikar's Quarters, Bedroom
The young woman slowly opened her eyes as the lights within the room gradually became brighter, mimicking the rising of the morning sun. On a starship there was no concept of night and day, so Sabrina had programmed the computer to turn on the lights in such a manner so as to give at least the temporary illusion that her life had been a normal one.
A gentle moan escaped from the redheaded woman's throat as the light became too bright to ignore, causing her to roll over and seek the warmth of her life mate… a warmth that the young woman soon realized had been missing. Suddenly sitting on the bed, Sabrina searched for Enaii remembering only after the fact why the blonde hair woman had not been in the room with her. Saddened and concerned the young woman slid out of bed and preceded to the sonic shower, an air of gloom hovering about her.

"Bina… where Nan'ha?" The young girl softly inquired, the concern on her gentle, innocent face echoing a thousand fold the worries felt by her adoptive mother. There had been no way for Talia to know that her mother was at that very moment in a section of the base that did not even appear on any of the maps or layouts… nor could the child know the kind of hell her mother was in the middle of being put through. Yet… somehow… as if she could feel the anguish of her biological parent, the little girl knew something had not been right.
"She will be back soon…" the young woman offered, unable to give anymore information than she had… not because she had not wanted to worry her daughter, but because she knew nothing more. Despite her position as the ANUBIS' ExO, the young woman had not had the required clearance level to grant her access to the current whereabouts of the ship's ILO and her life mate. All she knew was what James had been told… that Enaii would be in debriefing for the next 3 weeks or so. Although Rikar could imagine that this had something to do with what had happened onboard the ANUBIS and the 2 Romulans escapees, the redheaded woman hoped that this secrecy had only been because of Enaii's high Intel Operative status. As soon as breakfast would be completed, the ExO had already planned to seek out James and ask him if there had been anything more he could tell her… hopefully his clearance as CO would allow him to know more and his compassion would make him divulge the information.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Deck 8, Corridor
With Talia in tow, the young woman had made her way to the portside lateral docking port since the use of transporters while inside NEW ALEXANDRIA had been discouraged to help keep the base's energy output at a minimum. The ExO had not minded the walk, although she would have liked for James to have been on the ship instead of on the station… but like so many other things it could not be helped.
Just as the young woman and her daughter had been ready to step through the umbilical connection between the ANUBNIS and NEW ALEXANDRIA, Rikar stopped dead in her tracks and tilted her head as she tried to make sense of the large mass that had been heading in their direction. After a few moments, the ExO recognized the unknown entity as having been the ship's CEO carrying some piece of equipment that nearly measured as big as the engineer.
"What are you doing?" The young woman inquired, a curious grin having formed on her pink lips as she looked at the muscular man hunched over under the weight of the odd looking item that he had been carrying.
"Can't use transporters… needed to change one of the force field generators in the Security Center." David replied as he carefully lowered the massive piece of equipment to the floor, making sure that neither Talia nor Sabrina had been anywhere close.
"You know you could have used an anti-gravity sled to move that monstrosity around." The young woman grinned in a teasing voice, certain that the imposing Engineer had a good reason for not having done as she had said… other than not having thought of it.
"After the battle with the Romulans… I realized that I was getting a little out of shape, so I figured that a little physical work would not hurt." The CEO explained, leaning over the giant piece of equipment trying as best he could not to show that he had been most grateful for this chance to stop and rest.
"Remind me never to ask you to be my personal trainer… I couldn't lift something that size even if it was made of ultra-light materials." Sabrina chuckled as she studied the expression of fatigue on the man's face.
"Where are you off to?" David inquired, not used to seeing the ExO with her daughter out and about like this.
"We are going to the station to find James… I want to ask him something." The redheaded woman replied rather vaguely, not realizing that she had pulled Talia closer at the same time hinting that the question directed to the ANUBIS' CO would be of a somewhat personal concern. Had the person in front of the young woman been a Cns or anyone with some training in recognizing body language, Sabrina's worries would have been easily read, but luckily David had no such training and had other things preoccupying his thoughts.
"If you find him… tell him that my list of recommendations for upgrades to this bucket of bolts is waiting for him on his desk." The imposing Engineer snarled, sounding as if he truly detested the ANUBIS and everything about ii… at least everything mechanical.
"I'll pass on the message… as well as your unspoken request for a transfer to another ship." The young woman joked as she left the Engineer to his physical labour and headed off the ship and into the ANUBIS' base of operations.
