#008 - USS ANUBIS: Mei: Day 1 - 1700 ("Finding Niema")

"Finding Niema"
(continued from my own: "12 Steps to Success")
---

Stardate: 60313.1700
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Susan Mei's quarters

Susan looked at the PADD in front of her with a mixture of excitement andnervousness. Though there were certain steps she could follow now - in preparation - there were many that she could only do when she was 'on stage'as it were.

The first step, Physical Relaxation, for example. She could relax now all she liked but the fact of the matter was that it would do no good if she grew tense while chatting to a bunch of Cardassians.

With the thought of Cardassians, another thought crept into Susan's head. If she was supposed to be masquerading as this 'Niema Sol', there may be people who knew her - or of her - that she'd have to talk to and try and convince them she *was* her. And what if the real Niema Sol showed up...

Susan was beginning to see that practicing the first step now was not necessarily that pointless and took a large breath to calm her nerves. **Step three** she thought **BELIEVE in the part.**

She certainly wasn't going to get anywhere if she kept second-guessing. **And step seven** she smiled to herself, **know that the play is not real but behave as if it is.**

She remembered thinking that these steps were so pointless when she'd learned them, but a crush on the teacher had ensured that they were etched into her mind and now she was glad of it.

She scrolled to the picture of Niema Sol and tried to find the likeliness. It wasn't so difficult. Susan could see that the face was the same shape, even though the hair was darker than hers and the eyes were brown... not to mention the Bajoran nose... Susan decided that she better book an appointment with Lea... and maybe find out what assignment *she'd* got...
