Stardate: 60313.1400
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Susan Mei's quarters.
Susan sat down on her bed and laughed. She couldn't believe the cover she'd
been given and was convinced that it was a joke. It was too good to be true.
Any woman's dream. She didn't know why she had been given the assignment she
had. She supposed it was because she was new to this game and it wouldn't be
too difficult to pull off. Still, she considered herself incredibly lucky.
She read over the assignment again to make sure she hadn't made a mistake.
But there it was, in black and white.
Susan was to 'become' Bajoran. That was the most difficult part. The good
part, the exciting part and the part that would have made any woman jealous
was that she would be a Bajoran heiress. Her father had supposedly been a
Cardassian collaborator during the occupation and switched sides just as he
saw politics shifting. He became wealthy during the occupation and took off
with his family into space when the Bajorans took back their planet. When he
returned it was with the flood of other nationals who had fled during the
Cardassian rule. Susan smiled as she read the last part: Her father had
locked his wealth away and left it all to his only daughter. Susan (or
Susan's character) had the luck of being that daughter.
Her PADD stipulated only that the daughter, who's name was Niema Sol, was
what you would call a 'play girl'. After her father's death she had taken to the stars to enjoy the good things in life. One of those things obviously being
the TANGIERS ORBITAL annual show.
Susan smiled again and kicked back her feet as she lay back on her pillow.
Many a drama class had prepared her for this role. There had been a movement
on Earth once led by a man called Stanislavsky that had stipulated that any
actor should use a specific twelve-point system to 'become' the character
they were playing. Susan, who had taken drama classes to violent protests
from her practical father, had memorized the system. She didn't know much
about Intel... but she knew about acting.
She picked up a PADD from her bedside table and began plotting.
