Stardate: 60317.2000
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Serenna's Quarters
Looking at the banner of the Romulan Intel Agency
that hung on her wall, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
actually smiled thinking back to the last five days.
Since she had received her assignment for the
undercover mission to the TANGIERS ORBITAL, the
ANUBIS' COO had dedicated all of her energies and time
to learning more about the Tal'Shiar and their ways.
The greater majority of what she had come across had
already been known to her, but the Ops Officer who now
responded more to the name Sevaal or T'Pring more than
her own had still come across certain details that she
had never before considered.
Having abandoned herself to her new identify, the COO
wondered if what she had experienced during this
transition could in some way help her to understand
the ANUBIS' ILO. Thinking of the numerous times Lt.
Cmdr. Enaii had probably been required to take on the
identity of another could explain why she had become
so emotionally distant, something that the
Romulan/Terran hybrid had experienced first hand as
ideas and concepts of 'Serenna' were pushed further
and further into the shadows of her conscious mind.
Thinking of all that had already been accomplished,
the Romulan/Terran hybrid reminded herself that the
task had been far from over. Feeling comfortable with
*being* Sevaal had been a major step in the right
direction but it had been only one of many that the
COO had to make in order to accurately portray the
role that had been handed to her. Training her body
as an agent of the Tal'Shiar would had also
enlightened the former Sec/Tac officer and showed her
that she had unconsciously been following a very
similar training method in training those under her
command. Believing that she had obtained a solid
grasp of the physical and mental demands of her role,
the Ops officer hoped that she would be able to meet
with Enaii before the start of the mission in order to
address the third and final aspect of her new
identity: the psychological aspect.
Looking, acting and even speaking like Sevaal had
been a good starting point, but the Romulan/Terran
hybrid knew that she needed help in being able to
*think* like someone in her position. Respecting
Ensign Mei's position, knowledge and expertise in the
general domain of psychology had made the Cns the
first person the COO would speak to in the morning.
From there the Ops officer would actively seek out the
ILO and seek out her insight on the role she would
take, using what Ens. Mei will have provided as the
foundation upon which the rest of the information
provided by Lt. Cmdr. Enaii would be used.
Having clearly established her goals for the next
day, the COO gave the banner of the Tal'Shiar one last
glance before retiring to her bed for the night, one
that she suspected would be filled with even stranger
dreams than she had experienced the nights before.

Dreaming had always been Serenna's way of dealing
with certain specific issues that the Romulan/Terran
hybrid could not or had not had the chance to in the
physical world, so it was no great surprise that she
often dreamt of NEW BERLIN and of the family she had
left there. Joining Starfleet had been both a source
of great joy and disappointment for her father, but
after having learned the truth about the Romulan Star
Empire and their conquering ways, Serenna had been
left with little other choices.
With the passing of the years, the Academy grounds
added themselves to the limited list of locations the
Romulan/Terran hybrid dreamt of, using it to review
and explore some of the problems that had surfaced
while she had been a mere Cadet. Serving on the
AVALON had made visiting the Academy in her dreams
less of an important thing, not that she had been
doing it on a frequent basis before, but having been
assigned to the ANUBIS had pushed the need for such
dreams even further. Living on a secret ship
operating from a bases that did not exist had brought
in a new dimension to the hybrid's world, one that she
could freely explore within the confines of her mind.
Having dreamt of ROMULUS only once before when she
had been a child living on NEW BERLIN, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid was surprised as to the extent
of the details this latest trip to that world had.
Smelling the dryness and aromas that immediately
identified the world as being the center of the
Romulan Star Empire, the hybrid felt as if she had
arrived home. Thinking back to that sensation, as
she walked down the deserted streets, made Serenna
question how she could feel this way towards the alien
world. How could anyone feel this way when loathing
had been the only feeling in her heart prior to the
preparations for her new mission?

Waking up with a startle, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
jumped to her feet and activated her desk monitor.
"Lt. Serenna to Ens. Mei. Please respond."
Looking at the clock only after having made the call
made the COO realize that it had been far earlier than
she had expected it to be, but not it was too late to
stop. Acknowledging the call after several lengthy
moments, the face of the Cns appeared on the small
screen. [/\] Yes? What can I do for you
Lieutenant? [/\]
Feeling sorry for not having checked the time
beforehand, the Romulan/Terran hybrid tried to
apologies as best she could. "I am sorry for having
woken you up at such an early hour."
Being a Cns meant that she would be on call 24/7,
something that Ens. Mei knew and accepted and tried to
relay in her reply. [/\] Not a problem, I was just
getting up. So what can I do for you? [/\]
Recognizing a lie when she heard one, the COO made a
mental note to somehow make this up to Susan once they
would return from their mission. "Can I see you? I
would like to talk to you about something."
Understanding quickly that this was important to the
COO, the Cns wasted no time to reply. [/\] My
office, say in 15 minutes? [/\]
Nodding her agreement the Romulan/Terran hybrid
terminated the communication and got dressed, not
thinking for a second about her reaching for the
Romulan uniform instead of her usual Starfleet colors.
