Stardate: 60318.0545
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Holodeck 2
Standing in the middle of a holographic recreation of
one of the Romulan Star Empire's most prestigious
landmarks, the Romulan/Terran hybrid carefully
reviewed her meeting with the ANUBIS' Cns and the
insight into the psyche that Ensign Mei had provided.
Looking at the structures that surrounded her, the COO
could not help but feel a mixture of apprehension and
admiration, the two sides fighting for control of her
inner most being.
Thinking back to the day when she had learned about
the true nature of the Star Empire from which her
father had defected from, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
could hardly comprehend how she could look upon the
recreated buildings while feeling anything else but
contempt. Yet, analysing her own psyche the COO could
feel a growing sensation of appreciation towards the
structures and what they represented: a pillar of
strength and power upon which an entire empire had
been built.
Walking down one of the side roads, the
Romulan/Terran felt increasingly more comfortable with
the surroundings that she had created, beginning to
feel the same way as she had when the dream of ROMULAS
had invaded her sleep. Looking at one of the towering
statues that stood guard in front of an edifice
housing some of the empire's most prominent officers,
the ANUBIS' COO forgot for a brief moment that this
had all been nothing but a holographic recreation. As
Sevaal, she served the empire through her work with
the Tal'Shiar, and this was a source of pride despite
the cost that her position and duties required her to
pay on a daily basis.
Looking up at the monumental statue, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid felt more at ease with her new
identity than she had since the pre-mission briefing,
the COO feeling as if she had taken the final step in
becoming a Romulan. Thinking ahead, the COO knew that
this was not the end of her journey and that there had
still been a great deal for her to learn before being
able to accurately portray a Tal'Shiar agent. Going
back to the plan that she had formulated the night
before, the Ops officer exited the holodeck in search
of the ANUBIS' ILO. "Computer, exit. End program and
locate…"
Stepping through the opened doors of the holodeck,
the last command of the Romulan/Terran hybrid was
interrupted by her seeing someone standing in the
corridor, apparently waiting for the COO to come out.
Looking over the shoulder of the exiting hybrid, the
ILO watched as the computer terminated the simulation,
giving Enaii a short peek as to where exactly the Ops
officer had been. Returning her icy glare to the COO,
the Intel operative spoke, "Interesting program."
Understanding those in the position of the ILO a
little more than she did before, the Romulan/Terran
hybrid was not entirely surprised to see Enaii waiting
for her in the corridor suspecting that she had
learned about the COO's desire to speak with her
through some shadowy mean. Knowing Enaii as she did,
which in the greater scheme of things had not been all
that much, the Ops officer decided to not waste their
time with idle chat, something that neither women
seemed overly found of. "Cmdr, I would like to speak
with you about my assignment."
Looking unimpressed, Enaii glared back at the
Romulan/Terran hybrid taking a moment to carefully
study the uniform that the woman had been wearing.
Knowing better than to insult the intellect of the
ANUBIS' ILO, the COO figured that the woman already
knew the specifics as to why the hybrid sought an
audience with her and that there had been no need to
relay unnecessary details.
Taking a few moments to evaluate the Ops officer's
request, Enaii seemed to be mentally consulting her
schedule for the day before giving the COO a reply,
"Be in the IGC at 1300."
Nodding her thanks, the COO lowered her head just
long enough for the ILO to vanish without a trace
leaving the Romulan/Terran hybrid wondering if she had
imagined the encounter or if Enaii had, for one reason
or another, used some sort of holographic projection
instead of meeting the Ops officer in person.
Dismissing the physical nature of the Intel agent as
being unimportant, the COO went to her quarters
thankful that the ILO had made the task of finding her
that much easier.
