Stardate: 60321.0730
Setting: TANGIERS ORBITAL, 1st Floor, Triple Diamond Conference Lounge
Playing the role of a Vulcan commodities' trader
meant that the Romulan/Terran hybrid had to be logical
in the use of her time, seeking to be alone to
contemplate the tasks ahead even when in a room
designed to hold hundreds. Responding to the identity
of a Tal'Shiar operative meant that the ANUBIS' COO
sought this solitude for other reasons and in a way
that was unperceived by others.
Sitting at a the tables set against one of the walls,
the woman now answering to the name of Sevaal watched
as the Andorian greeted the Orion woman and later
listened in on the secret conversation between them
and the latest arrival. Having already spoken with
David, or Kreedar Brell for the duration of this
mission, the Romulan/Terran hybrid had decided to say
nothing and observe. Knowing about the situation
surrounding T'Preel, and his alleged involvement in
the death of the CEO's brother, only made the COO
understand David's anger and the need to keep a close
watch on the large man.
Granting David the progress that he had made in
controlling his temper meant that an acceptance of
what he had been, and still very much capable of had
to be conceded. Giving the exceptional circumstances
surrounding the evolution of their mission to the
TANGIERS ORBITAL, the Romulan/Terran hybrid could not
ignore the temptation David faced to give in to his
darker side and seek a more personal type of justice.
Understanding this meant that the Tal'Shiar operative
would keep an eye on the bounty hunter, and being a
friend to the man behind the mask also meant that the
COO would do so from a distance so as to not make the
CEO feel as if he could not be trusted.
Continuing to observe the transformed conference
lounge, the Romulan/Terran hybrid watched the
movements of other casino guests as the entered the
room and took their seats. Focussing on her work as
Sevaal, the undercover COO hybrid found that she felt
more alone as the number of people in the room
increased making her wonder about another operative
whom the Ops officer had observed in a similar
situation.
Thinking back to how strange it had been to see Lt.
Cmdr. Enaii looking so alone while being surrounded by
so many back on the ANUBIS, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
began to wonder if this feeling did not somehow found
its source in the training of the Tal'Shiar. Not
knowing for certain what kind of training the ILO had
endured at the start of her career as an Intel
Operative meant that this was merely speculations, but
the way the woman acted and reacted seemed to fit more
and more with what the COO had discovered about what
it meant to be an agent of the Romulan Intel Agency.
Realizing that such a debate would better be kept for
another time, the Romulan/Terran hybrid returned her
complete focus to the conference lounge and the
increasing number of people who were coming to enjoy
the elaborate meal that had been set up for them.
Glancing at the PADD she had brought with her, the COO
was surprised to see how much time had elapsed since
her arrival in the room. Having arrived well before
the food had been ready and brought out, it had made
perfect sense for the Vulcan commodities' trader to
sit at a table and wait, but now the absence of a
plate in front of her appeared as odd.
Not wanting to attract any sort of attention to
herself, the Romulan/Terran hybrid left her chair and
proceeded to the buffet to fetch some food. As
skilful and resourceful as Intel operatives were, the
COO had discovered that they too needed food if they
intended of being able to perform all of the task
required of them. Having made a quick selection of
fruits, some of which had been strangely colored, the
Tal'Shiar operative returned to her table to find that
the PADD she had left behind to show that the table
had been occupied had been joined by another. Quickly
scanning around her, the undercover SFI agent saw no
one who could have deposited the item where it had
been found leaving Serenna with only one course of
action.
Sitting in the chair with her back against the wall,
the COO gave the crowd around her another look hoping
to find someone glancing in her direction to insure
that the PADD that had been left behind had been
received by its intended person. Having seen no such
glance being cast in her direction, the Romulan/Terran
hybrid lowered her eyes and began to analyze the
device to see if maybe a clue as to its origin could
be found on it.
Scrutinizing the frame of the PADD for any and all
clues about who could have put it there and why, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid's investigation was started when
she heard a voice coming from within her head, or so
it had first appeared. =/\= What do you have there?
You look like you have just discovered the key to the
universe. =/\=
Realizing that the voice had been that of the ANUBIS'
Cns and that it had come through the sub-dermal
communicator placed behind her ear, the Romulan/Terran
hybrid did not even bother to look up in order to keep
the illusion of there not being any conversation
taking place intact. "It's a PADD."
Huffing her disappointment on the answer that she had
been given, Susan sent a clicking sound through the
encoded transmission that made it clear to everyone
able to ear it that the Cns had already figured that
much. =/\= I meant, what is on it? It looks like it
has your full attention. =/\=
Looking up from the device, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
glanced around and quickly enough located the Bajoran
sitting only a couple of tables away. Although not
close enough to see the details of the PADD in the
hands of the COO, Susan had been close enough to maybe
catch a glimpse of the person who had left it there,
triggering the Ops officer's next question. "Did you
see who left it on the table? I went to get something
to eat and found it here when I returned."
Trying not to make a significant eye contact with the
Vulcan sitting a few tables away, the Bajoran looked
away but not before the Romulan/Terran hybrid noticed
a distinct expression of surprise on the Cns' face.
=/\= Sorry, I've been trying to find the others. I
noticed you only when you were heading back to your
table. =/\=
Finding it a little troubling that the person who had
left the PADD behind had managed to do so completely
unseen by others, the Romulan/Terran returned her
attention to the mysterious device just as Capt.
Simmons made a query that took many by surprise. =/\=
Has anyone seen Lea? =/\=
Following a quick scan from everyone else present,
every member of the undercover team came back with the
same answer; no one had seen or heard from the Halanan
woman since last night.
