Setting: TANGIERS ORBITAL, unknown room

The drug given to Lea by David had worked perfectly, sending Lea into the realm of slumber. There, the CMO could forget about all of the hardships that she had endured, and dream of better days. Free from the emotional and physical bonds, Lea's thoughts drifted to a time when all was pleasant. Lea enjoyed the softness of the bed against her aching muscles while her mind searched for something to counterbalance her recent experiences.

Setting: Dreamscape, archaeological excavation site

Lea smiled as only a child could. The rundown clay walls that surrounded Lea were very familiar to her. This had been the first off-world place her parents had taken their three-year old daughter. Sheila, Lea's mother, was with child at that time, this clearly showing in the woman's laboured walk.

"Lea, come with mommy, there is something daddy wants to show you."

No three-year old child would refuse such an offer. The day had already been filled with never before seen wonders and the promise of another was all Lea needed to jump at the opportunity. Lea took hold of her mother's hand and followed out of the decrepit building and into an open valley.

The rocky hillsides were exactly as Lea remembered them. Even the smell of the wild flowers that hung in the air was as it had been so many years ago. Lea's eyes spent a few moments on the bulging belly of her mother before turning onto Brian, her father. The archaeologist was working in a pit and as soon as Lea saw him, she broke away from her mother and ran to her father.

"Whoa there pumpkin," Brian Summers said, catching his daughter just as she arrived on the edge of the pit. "You have to be careful around these things, they are very very old and very very fragile."

Lea looked into the eyes of her father, wanting to say so many things. Locked inside the body of the three-year old girl was the mind of an adult who had experienced things that could not be described. Unable to break away from the reality of the dream, Lea apologised as she had done on that day some 25 years ago.

Brian, as any loving father in his position would, smiled at his child and showed Lea what he had discovered.

"Look there, just beneath the layer of sand. Do you see it?"

Lea shook her head. She remembered what her father had discovered on that day, but that knowledge had not been hers yet. Back then, the three-year old child had seen nothing until her father had begun to brush the sand away from the necklace.

"Here," Brian said, handing a small soft-bristled brush to Lea, "why don't you help me."

Lea took the brush and matching the care of her father's gestures started to brush the sand away from the necklace. Of course the three-year old Lea did not know what the item would be back then, but the anticipation grew with each stroke of the brush.

As the sand receded, Lea discovered something that she had not expected, or remembered. The necklace that should have been there was not. Instead, the child and her father unearthed what appeared to be a mask. As more of the sand was removed, the features of this mask became clearer. Lea quickly recognized it as the front section of the headgear worn by Kreedar Brell.

Puzzled and confused, Lea reached for the mask, the hand of the three-year old child having somehow become that of an adult. As the mask was removed, Lea gasped as she saw the face of David looking back at her. The CEO's hazel eyes had grown dark and cold, and his skin showed signs of having been touched by some sort of darkness.

Barely breathing, an adult Lea leaned in closer and was startled awake when David's hand suddenly reached up from the sand and took the CMO by the throat.
