Time Index: After Maya's report to Sabrina
David slowly entered the main engineering deck to total chaos. There were fried stations, burned out consoles, and the thing that he as the chief engineer of the ANUBIS hated the most...
...a dead warp core.
Sure enough, the warp core wasn't dead per se, but the painstaking process to fire up all the plasma and matter/antimatter that powered the ANUBIS would take...
"Approximately 4 hours boss" Lieutenant Ken Yates said as he saw the CEO.
"You're getting better at reading my mind Ken."
"Keeps me on my toes I guess. But I hate to tell ya, those little bastards did a *complete* job on us."
David walked over to the core. Normally it would be vibrantly humming with a strong blue and red hue, but it was darker than space itself.
"What I want to know is how the hell they got on board." which wasn't a question, "if we're traveling at warp. Was the Ablative Armour active?"
"According to the logs it was" Ken replied.
"I told James and I'll have to tell Sabrina that this ship is nothing more than a piece of..."

There was silence, =/\= David, you OK to be up and about... =/\=
"Who else is gonna mend this rusty bucket of bolts" David replied as he took a PADD from a technician.
=/\=I'd like it very much if you'd refrain from defaming my ship like that Lieutenant, =/\= Sabrina replied with a hint of humor in her voice.
"No disrespect Captain, but we'll all be dead and *long* gone before that happens. Give me 20 minutes and I'll have something for you."

David looked around. "Well... what the hell are you all standing around for? You waiting for a invitation from the Federation President?" the CEO said as the engineering staff and damage control teams went to work.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Bridge
The doors to the lift opened and David stepped off. Sabrina was standing next to Serenna at the XOs station as he crossed the bridge.
"Please, please, *please* tell me you have good news." Sabrina said as she saw the imposing engineer cross the deck.
"Does fate like me *that* much Captain?" David asked as the CO shook her head.
"Let me have it." Sabrina groaned.
"Well... good news is, all damage is repairable." David said.
"Not to sound cynical, but everything that breaks, malfunctions, or shuts down is repairable by you David" Serenna added.
"Thank you Commander for stating the obvious" the CEO replied, "bad news is we're looking at 4-6 hours."
"Might I remind you..." Sabrina said looking at David and he read her expression.
"I know, I know... we can get it done in 2... 3 tops... but we're talking pulling power from all non essential systems. Its a damned mess down there."
"Systems such as?" Serenna asked.
"I was thinking life support and the Structural Integrity Field. Maybe for an hour until I get ready to re start the warp core."
Sabrina's eyes narrowed. "What's wrong with the core?"
"Whatever those little bastards did they shut down the core. That's why we couldn't go to warp. But the question is, how in the hell did they get on board?"
"Maya and Lea are working on that angle" Sabrina replied, "right now I want motion, movement, bye bye. Understood?" the CO said knowing that her CEO would get her ship moving soon.
"How are we defensive wise?" Sabrina asked David, "do we have..."
"Would I leave this floating paper weight unprotected? he said with a smirk as Sabrina rolled her eyes and he continued, "You have full shields but no ablative armour. I gotta get those back up and working."
"Might I offer a suggestion?" Elan said from the FCOs station, "you could expidite a lot of time if you use the robots we worked on back at NEW ALEXANDRIA David. They could start the repairs to the AAGs while you focus on your other repairs."
"Sound advice." Sabrina said and David nodded.
"Right. I could use some more hands down there. Captain, would you mind..."
"Elan, you're with David. Just as long as it isn't my hands." she added with a grin to the CEO.
"Heaven forbid. Hate to see you ruin that manicure of yours." David replied as he and Elan headed for the lift.
Sabrina chuckled and pointed to the lift. "Back to your hole thorn in my hind quarters."
"I love you too" David said as the doors to the lift closed.
"Well... its good to see that his spirit isn't diminished" Sabrina said looking at her first officer.
"A busy David is a happy David Captain" Serenna added, "to keep him extra happy, I could add..."
"No" Sabrina replied, "I don't want him overworking himself with those injuries. Even though he won't admit to it, I could see it in his face. But let's revisit that train of thought another day. You have the bridge Commander," the CO said heading off to her ready room.
