Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor
Being six hours away from the NEW ALEXANDRIA complex the Romluan/Terran hybrid had turned over control of the ship to its avatar doubting that anything would get in their way so close to home. Having been in charge of the ship pretty much since their departure from SURIAL III, the XO needed some time for herself away from the rest of the usual sights and responsibilities that had been around her.
Walking down one of the lesser travelled passageways of the ship; the Romulan/Terran hybrid could not stop herself from thinking of under her responsibility as XO of the ANUBIS. Insuring that the morale of the crew remained high was her job but the XO was at a loss to figuring how to go about it. Reaching NEW ALEXANDRIA meant for many that they were home, but for many others it also meant that one of their own would see his career be brought to an abrupt end. Demoting the CEO seemed to be the best possible scenario while his being trialed for gross insubordination by Admiral Koneki himself hung on the other side of the balance.
Wondering what could have driven her Academy classmate to act has he had and in short throw away all hopes of a promising career the Romulan/Terran hybrid remembered what the XO of the MERCURY had said about David having been in trouble if what Richard had said was in anyway possible. Taking on the role of defence attorney was by definition the responsibility of the ship's CO in matters such as this but the First Officer now wanted to take on that role. Defending David, or at least proving that he had not been in control of his own actions was the least the XO could do for the man with whom she had shared and seen so much with.
Working on the premises that the XO would have to build a case in defence of the ANUBIS' CEO's actions, the Romulan/Terran hybrid decided to begin her investigation by visiting the ship's CMO and trying to see if there had been any physiological proof to support the theory that Lt. Dawson had not been in complete control of his faculties. Heading towards sickbay the First Officer imagined that this search for an explanation as to David's actions could easily backfire, providing her instead with more proofs that the engineer had simply succumbed to his inner most demons empowered by anger and the need for revenge.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Sickbay
Walking into Sickbay the Romulan/Terran hybrid was taken aback by the sight that assaulted her sense of sight. Seeing not one, not two but three towering giants standing in the center of the room looking down at the ship's CNS had been more than the XO could have anticipated, and that one of those walking mountains had been the Naussicaan she had ran into earlier had only made matters worst.
Forcing her way past the Hirogen and Naussicaan as if spreading a set of heavy curtains, the ship's Counsellor stepped forward and greeted the baffled XO. "Commander, I am glad that you have dropped in, I have been showing the ship to our friends. Given their involvement and assistance with our rescuing of their fellow shipmates I thought it only polite to extend some courtesy to them."
Glaring at the Naussicaan for a brief moment the XO turned her complete attention onto Ens. Mei and brutally pulled the CNS aside forgetting for a moment why she had come to Sickbay in the first place. "You do realise that this is a *classified* ship and that showing anything to anyone with the proper security clearance could be construed as an act of treason."
Looking as if she had been ready to collapse to the floor where she stood Ens. Mei glanced back over her shoulder at the two visitors currently being spoken to by the third giant who had just recently joined them before returning her eyes onto the menacing looking XO. Whispering, the CNS explained the reason for her actions, "I'm sorry, I did not think that this would cause any harm since they had already been onboard and that we did owe them for helping Lt. Pravat in his rescue efforts. It was never my intent to breach any protocols; I just thought it would be nice to extend a hand of friendship to them. I assure you that we did not go anywhere that might have put the ship or our base of operations in danger. After all are we not on the same side?"
Appearing a little disappointed by the naivety of their CNS, the Romulan/Terran hybrid reconsidered her position on the efforts of Ens. Mei this time taking into account that part of her reaction could have been brought on by the fact that their guests did not fit the normal image of what the XO could consider to be a Starfleet officer. Coming across as being far more relaxed, the First Officer continued with the reason that had brought her here in the first place. "I am looking for Ens. Summers, would you know where she is?"
Taking the sudden change of subject as a positive sign, the CNS smiled and wasted no time in relaying the CMO's location to the XO as it had been provided to her by one of the nurses when she had walked into Sickbay with her *guests*. "From what I was told, Lea went to Stellar Cartography to speak to Maya. I was not told why, only that she left about 10 minutes ago."
Nodding her thanks to the CNS, the Romulan/Terran glanced one last time at the gathered giants, hoping that she would not have to deal with the Naussicaan again between now and their arrival at NEW ALEXANDRIA.
