#151 - USS ANUBIS: Rikar: Day 4 - 1245 (" Future ")

" Future "

Setting: USS ANUBIS, IGC
Stardate: 60326.1245

The young woman had made her way to the IGC with her mind filled with questions about the future. Unfortunately none of the questions that she had silently been asking of herself could be answered by anyone else… so the redheaded woman had wondered her ship and ended up here. What the CO needed was some sort of closure which would permit her to carry on with her duties and responsibilities towards the other members of her crew… despite having lost some Rikar needed to focus on those who had made it back and more important those who had been rescued thanks to the combined efforts and sacrifices of the crew of the ANUBIS.

The CO forced a weak smile onto her pink lips as she studied the vacant office that overlooked the main working area of the IGC… from there Enaii could oversee any and all activities of those who worked under her immediate command. From that office the ILO had on more than one occasion taken charge of a situation and provided Rikar with invaluable Intel and insight into a wide variety of situations. All that the young woman could do was hope that from wherever the spirit of the blonde haired woman had gone to this looking over the safety of the ship and its crew would continue in some way.

As the young woman closed her eyes she imagined her life-mate standing on the other side of the windowed wall of the ILO's office. As a former Cns Rikar knew of the beliefs of a great many race and their perspective on life after death. Not having a specific belief of her own on that matter Sabrina had nothing to cling onto but as she slowly reopened her eyes the CO saw a smiling image of Enaii looking back down upon the CO of the ANUBIS silently bidding her to be on her way and take care of the tasks that were ahead of her.

No one truly dies… as long as someone in this universe remembers them.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Bridge
Stardate: 60326.1300

The young woman had made her way back to the Command Deck of the ANUBIS ready to return to full active duty… her first task being to take care of the wishes of the MERCURY's CO. Even before Rikar had arrived into the command pit where her currently vacant chair had been waiting, the CO had made a request of the ship's Avatar.

"Annie… please locate Ensign Uxtar and Rostov and inform them that I would like to see them in my office at their earliest convenience before we reach NEW ALEXANDRIA. After that please have Lt. Cmdr. Serenna also report to my office ASAP… following that please send to my office a detailed report on the location of Ens. Mei for the last 2 hours… I am curious to see whom she has been speaking to and see if she needs any help." The young woman ordered as she pivoted on her heels and headed for the Ready Room without awaiting for any sort of confirmation from the ship's Avatar.

"Captain!" The massive Oltharian called out before the young woman could vanish into her office. As tall and imposing as Elan was Rikar could not help but see him for the caring and gentle giant that she had always known him to be which only made her turning around to see him approaching that much less of a burden… which it was not.

"What can I do for you Lt. Fairborn?" The young woman inquired as she remembered that he too had lost someone exceptionally close to his heart making them kindred spirits in some ways.

"I simply wanted to offer you my deepest and most profound sympathies for your loss… and I would like to offer you my services should you require them in whatever ways you may seem fit." The towering Oltharian offered in a way that made the redheaded woman smile inwardly. Sabrina highly doubted that Elan would be able to take on even a fraction of the duties of the ANUBIS' ILO but that he had simply made the offer had been gesture enough… showing the CO that she had not bee alone to face the raod that stretched ahead.

"Thank you Elan… your offer and unending generosity are greatly appreciated. Just get us back home in 1 piece for now." Rikar grinned adding a friendly wink before she turned around and vanished through the opened doorway to her office from where she would tackle the tasks that would define the future of the ship and of its crew.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, CO's Ready Room
Stardate: 60326.1305

The young woman slowly made her way around her desk and quickly noticed that the report she had requested from Annie had already been completed and forwarded to her console, ready for the CO's perusal. As the redheaded woman sat down she contemplated what she would have to do within the very near future.

First she would have to speak to Serenna and inform the ExO that immediately after docking at their base of operations, Lt. Dawson would be placed under arrest and charged with insubordination, disregard for the lives of fellow officers and officer misconduct leading to the death of a fellow shipmate. As the officer officially bringing up these formal charges against the CEO Rikar would be unable to act as David's counsel, a task that would fall upon the half Human, half Romulan woman… if she cared to have it.

Second the CO would have to speak to Uxtar and Nicodemos individually and relay the wishes of their current CO and offer them a position onboard the ANUBIS. Maybe 1 or both would be willing to take on the task of protecting her already imagining in the worst possible ways how David would respond to the charges being laid against him and that he would have to be brought in front of a court-martial to address the accusations and offer any sort of defence… if he had any to offer.

Third and last, Sabrina would need to speak to Susan to see just what kind of damage would have been done following the CEO's court-martial. Would the crew still respect her as their CO and see that she had been forced to do as she had because David had left her with no choice or would the members of the ANUBIS see it as a way for the redheaded woman to seek revenge for the death of Enaii? Whichever way the crew reacted Rikar had already made up her mind about what course she would take… leaving her fate and that of the ANUBIS cast in the winds of the future.
