The young woman tossed and turned in the bed which had grown far too large and empty for her liking. It had taken a great deal of time for sleep to find the redheaded woman… but rest would not come so easily to the ANUBIS' CO. Unlike her daughter who had been sound asleep in her own room for several hours now, Sabrina had found it very hard to relax once her head had landed on the pillow… in fact the silence of the room and the all too familiar sights and memories had only made the task that much more difficult.
Unlike Talia the young woman had found it very hard… if not impossible…
to accept what had happened to her life-mate and mother of her adoptive child. Although the two women spent only a small fraction of their time together, the redheaded woman found herself missing and longing for this elusive time which had helped her discover some of this universe's true pleasures.
By the time she had finally been too tired to remain awake… her pillow stained with the weight of countless tears, the young woman had drifted into an uneasy sleep plagued by memories and images which even the ship's Cns' would be at a loss to explain. To the outside world, Rikar was going through troubled dreams, but to the woman herself the depth of the troubles she faced in her dreams reached far beyond this universe of flesh.
==========
The young woman had been running for what had felt like days on the white sand beach… unsure as to whether she had been running towards something or someone, or trying to escape some unseen and unknown monster. The sunbathed sand had been almost too hot for the tender skin of the redheaded woman's feet, only driving her to run faster even if she did not know to where or from what she had been running for.
Unable to force her feet to take another step, the young woman collapsed onto the sand which easily gathered and collected the tears that she had been unaware of having been shedding. Within seconds a small pool of liquid formed beneath her, reflecting a distorted image of her own features back to her teary eyes.
When a set of feminine feet which had not been hers suddenly appeared
in her field of vision, the young woman raised her eyes inwardly hoping that
the rest of the body would belong to one particular woman. Disappointment
quickly settled in as Rikar realised that the woman who had come to
stand before her had not been her life-mate… actually she had been a complete
stranger, never having seen the likes of her in neither dream or
reality.
Ready to demand of the unknown woman as to why she had come to this place at this time, the young woman began to study the features of the woman in question recognising certain aspects without ever being able to make sense of the whole. As Sabrina slowly brought herself to stand and face the never before seen woman, the redheaded woman's eyes narrowed as she picked the details of the unknown face which strongly reminded her of her own adoptive daughter.
"You… you can't be… this must be a dream…" The young woman said trying
to make sense of what she had been seeing. Although she could neither
confirm nor deny it, Sabrina had almost been certain that the woman standing in front of her had been Talia, or someone very closely related to her.
"You need to let her go… Enaii is with me now…" The woman said, clearly
in a voice that did not nor would ever belong to her adoptive child.
Whoever this person had been, she had not been the daughter that the young
woman had left sleeping in her bed the last time she had seen her.
"Who are you?" Rikar demanded, ready to tackle the woman down onto the
sandy beach if it would help in any way to get any type of answer from this
mysterious individual.
"She is with me now… let her go."
"Never… do you hear me! NEVER! I will never let her go… NEVER!" The
young woman countered as her eyes once again filled with tears.
"It is over… she has left you."
"WHO ARE YOU?" Sabrina shouted ready to lunge forward and strangle the
woman with her bare hands for no other reason than having dared to say that
Enaii had truly left both her and Talia… but before an answer could be
offered or an action could be taken, the young woman felt something pulling at her arm. Soon the beach and all that surrounded it vanished leaving the
redheaded woman standing in an absolute void.
==========
"Bina!" Talia begged as she pulled with all of her strength on her adoptive mother's arm in an attempt to wake her from whatever nightmare she had been enduring and which had reached all the way to her room to draw her out of the bed.
Immediately seeing the concerned eyes of her daughter as she awoke, the young woman reached out and embraced the child, bringing her as close to her as two physical bodies could. The act had allowed the mother to display her love for her child and to hide her streaming tears from the innocent little girl who despite all that had happened could still find it in her heart to be concerned for her other mother.
