Stardate: 60331.0920
Setting: USS HATHOR, Rikar's Quarters

The young woman watched with disbelief as her daughter bounced on the bare lower bunk of the two beds, calling for whoever would listen to 'go again'. Whatever had caused the inertial dampening field to momentarily falter had cause a great deal of trouble for the ship, and brought a tremendous amount of joy to one particular little girl.

The only reason why Talia had been so amused by the equipment malfunction had been because the mattress of her bed had been, for a reason only known to the child and her monkey, placed against the far wall of the room. The young woman had been most grateful for this as it had saved her daughter from slamming into the wall when the inertial dampeners fails. To the child though this had been nothing more than an unexpected thrill ride which had had wished to relive.

At first the redheaded woman had been happy to see her daughter so full of life, but as time passed the child's enthusiasm failed to diminish… draining Rikar's patience instead.

"Talia." The mother pleaded while trying to get a hold of the still bouncing girl, "please stop that. I am sure that they have fixed whatever caused the problem."

"No problem!" The girl dressed in the colours of a Starfleet Intel Operative countered. "Fun! Go again!"

Although starships had been made to be soundproof many years ago, the restrictive size of the HATHOR had made it very difficult for any high-pitch sound not to be heard from the other side of the doors. Since Doctor Summers had been busy with the CEO, Ens. Mei and Ens. Halliwell had decided to do a quick tour of the ship to make sure that every and everyone were alright.

The moment the door chime rang, the young woman had rushed to the door to allow whoever had been on the other side to come in, hoping that they would provide either a reason for Talia to stop or a momentary diversion distracting the little girl onto something new.

"Is everything alright?" The Cns inquired as she peeked deeper into the room to see the child bouncing on the bare bed, Talia's eyes fixated on the mattress leaning against the far wall.

"Everything is… fine." The redheaded woman replied with a sigh as she glanced over her shoulder at her daughter who seemed to be far from becoming tired of her new pastime.

"Let me have a look at her." Ens. Halliwell offered with a smile as she made her way into the room and promptly placed the medkit she had brought along by Talia's side before opening it.

"You look a little frazzled." The Cns quietly whispered to the ANUBIS' CO as she led the young woman aside taking full advantage of the diversion provided by the HATHOR's aCMO.

"I'm fine… just scared… and losing my patience. If she had not been playing with Capi and placed that mattress where it is, I can only imagine what would have happened." Rikar explained as she turned to look at her daughter and Doctor only to find them both looking at the medical tricorder readouts of the small primate which had come out of hiding.

"If she is in any way her mother's daughter, I doubt that a wall would have been enough to do more than stop her for a few seconds… if that." Mei grinned as she rubbed the young woman's arm in a comforting manner, allowing the Cns to also make sure that the redheaded woman had not suffered any injuries during the mishap.

"Well, that little monkey looks to be in perfect health." The aCMO announced as she closed her tricorder and smiled at the little girl who had finally stopped bouncing on the bed.

"Capi… her name Capi." Talia proudly stated as the small primate jumped from where it had been onto the shoulder of the child before circling the girl and arriving on her head.

"Well… it looks like Capi wants to make sure that you are alright too… can I do that? Can I show Capi that Talia is alright?" The aCMO inquired, showing a remarkable skill and know-how with children.

Talia looked up trying to see the animal that had stopped on her head before she smiled and nodded, giving Ens. Halliwell permission to perform the scan that the aCMO had been wanting to do since she had walked into the room.

As Elizabeth scanned the child from head to toe for any sign of trauma or injuries, the aCMO soon found that her efforts had been joined by those of the primate which had jumped from the girl's head onto the woman's shoulder in order to get a better look at the tricoder.

"Maybe bringing her on this mission was not such a good idea… James convinced me that this would be nothing more than a *simple* mission, but I should have known better… there are no such things as *simple* in Starfleet." The young woman said as she watched the aCMO perform a medical scan on a perfectly calm and still little girl.
