Setting: USS HATHOR, CO's Ready Room
Stardate: 60331.1400

Looking out the only window of her office, the Romulan/Terran hybrid quietly reviewed in her head the problems and successes they had faced so far during their mission. The HATHOR was performing as well as could be expected and whatever bugs had still been in present had been rapidly dealt with thanks to the efficiency of Lt. Fairborn, Lt. Dawson and the rest of the engineering staff.

Taking her seat behind the small desk, the HATHOR's CO logged in her opinions of the mission so far and began thinking about what other challenge they would be made to face. Knowing that 1st Lt. Pravat was planning something as per her own instructions had actually made the Romulan/Terran hybrid be a little on edge. Not being aware of what this *thing* would be, and knowing how dedicated the Marine was to his work only made the HATHOR's CO wonder when and how the Enaran would strike?

Dismissing the possibility that the engine problems had somehow been caused by the Marine, the Romulan/Terran hybrid could only guess that the test that she had requested from Pravat would take place once the HATHOR arrived at S-7331. Using the high gravimetric activity of the star to make a bad situation worse seemed to be along the way of thinking of the Marine 1st Lieutenant who would hold no punches to achieve the goal requested by the HATHOR's CO.

Thinking the logic sound the Romulan/Terran hybrid figure that she and the rest of the crew had about a full day before finding themselves in the middle of an unexpected trial mean to test their resolve and ability to deal with the unexpected. Pushing those under her command beyond their normal physical and mental limits had been a trait of the woman since she had been a Chief of Security, and now that she found herself in command, the hybrid knew that such tests had been even more important.

Training for the unexpected was an integral part of being in Starfleet, and this was even more so within the ranks of SFI as the unexpected was common occurrence. Evaluating treats and situations before they became impossible to be dealt with was something that each and every officer onboard the ANUBIS needed to be able to do in their sleep, and as much as she did not care to admit it some of the current crew of the HATHOR lacked in this ability.

Having done all that she had wanted to, the Romulan/Terran hybrid returned to the bridge which had been left in the sole custody of the XO whom the hybrid found sitting at the science station instead of on the central chair. "You do know that while you are in charge, you can sit in the captain's chair."

Looking up at the HATHOR's CO with a stunned expression, the CSciO/XO glanced at the empty chair and returned her eyes onto the Romulan/Terran hybrid. "I did, I mean I was, that is before I had to put in a course correction into the flight controls. After that I had wanted to run a few additional tests on the lateral sensors to be sure that we would be ready to deal with the gravimetric anomalies that we would encounter as we approach S-7331. I mean I know that this ship is made to withstand more than more starship, but I thought it prudent to make sure we did not run into anything that we could have easily avoided."

Still finding it hard to believe that anyone could speak as fast and without seemingly taking a breath as the Shillian, the HATHOR's CO took a moment to process all of the information her XO had provided in only a few seconds. "Course correction?"

Smiling at the CO, the XO nodded her head before going into an extensive explanation. "I am sure that it was nothing more than a benign error made by our FCO who had us heading towards the far reaches of the Beta Quadrant instead of S-7331. I noticed the mistake and imputed a course correction and given our current speed, this will result in only an hour's delay, which of course could be easily compensated by asking Lt. Fairborn to push the engines to their maximum for a short period of time."

Raising a single hand to stop the Shillian from continuing, something that the Romulan/Terran hybrid knew for sure her XO could and would; the HATHOR's CO accepted the report with a nod of her head and headed for the central chair. "I do not think that an hour more or less is going to make any difference in what we have to do."

Sitting in her chair the Romulan/Terran hybrid accepted this minor delay as just another unexpected to be dealt with, one that would surely be easier than anything the Enaran Marine would have in store for them once they arrived at their next destination.
