The debate raged within Derek. Something was wrong. From what he knew of
Lieut. Commander Serenna a medical courier would take precedent over any
other situation. To dismiss his request without even asking for more
information was definitely not within her character as he saw it. He had
been pulsing the flight control sensors in the hope of an answer from
whoever was in control of the HATHOR, he had almost given up, when he began
to receive return pulses. As he studied the given information the only sign
he gave was the raising of his left eyebrow.
"Personal Log... I have made contact with the FCO of the HATHOR by use of a
private code. He reports Breen in control of the bridge and he assumes other
parts of the ship. This is interesting as no vessels have been near since I
began following in the KARRABY CLUSTER. He has put forth a plan to get me
aboard. It could be dangerous yet if it works I can be aboard without anyone
knowing. The timing will be crucial. End recording."
Derek began to make preparations. The shuttle bay would be open mere seconds
depending on the reaction of the Breen. He took over manual control and
began a slow side slip to the left in order to line up with the bay doors.
Increasing his speed he began to close the gap. If anyone was looking out a
port it would appear as if he intended to ram the HATHOR... which in a way
he did. He was less than 500 yards away and beginning to bleed off his
approach speed when almost to the second the bay doors opened. As he crossed
the threshold he flared the nose and brought his speed to zero, settling
gently to the deck the bay doors slamming shut behind him.
Quickly locking down his controls he moved to the weapons locker and grabbed
a phaser. Ensuring it was set for heavy stun he slipped from his ship.
Making a quick sweep he verified he was alone in the bay. Moving to a
bulkhead computer station he called up the HATHOR's Schematics. Studying the
ships plans he saw he was on deck 3 and quite a ways from the bridge,
especially if there was a hostile force on board. The best option would be
Main Engineering If he could control that he could basically control the
ship, and it was just down the corridor.
Moving to the corridor door he eased it open manually so as not to give an
indication it was opening to anyone in the corridor. But there was no one to
worry about. Moving quickly he made it to the door to Main Engineering. He
did not know what he was walking into but there was nothing
to do but do it. Besides surprise could be a major equalizer in some
situations.
Keying the door he stepped in and slipped sideways taking slight cover
behind a console. Across from him were two Breen. One was bent over tying the hands of a large male, the other was turned slightly away watching. The kneeling Breen looked up just in time to take a phaser blast to the chest sending it sprawling back wards. The other Breen spun toward Derek. The Breen EV suit having made most movements more difficult, the second Marine found it almost impossible to accurately aim his weapon at the unknown intruder. Bringing up his weapon. Derek fired again but only clipped the Breen who managed to get off a shot that sizzled past Dereks ear. Derek fired again this time catching the Breen solidly in the chest, the Breen fell like a stone.
Derek went quickly to the center console and locked down all access to Main
Engineering. Than bending over the prostrate crew member he untied his hands and rolled him over. As he came around the man swung his massive fist in a punch at Derek's head. Derek caught the fist in his hand and was surprised at the strength behind the blow... especially for a man obviously weakened by a stun-blast.
"Easy sir. You might cause yourself further injury."
David sat up and saw the two Breen laid out on the deck. But what puzzled
him was who was this stranger. He was Vulcan that was easy enough to see but David knew everyone on board when the HATHOR had left dock, and this was... a civilian? He started to stand and the Vulcan lifted him as if he was light.
"Who are you... and how did you get here?"
"Sorry sir..." Derek stood tall and gave a semi-official salute. "Ensign
Derek Stormwind as to how or why I am here I think that should wait until the
ship is back in our hands... Sir."
David looked at him with suspicion but knew that the Ensign was right.
