Stardate: 60331.2245
Setting: USS HATHOR, CO's Ready Room

The young woman sat in front of Serenna in a way that the 2 women had shared many times while onboard the ANUBIS. Although the general set-up of this little meeting had been the same as so many previous others, there had been some inescapable differences… the first and most important having been that the half Human, half Romulan woman was behind the desk and Sabrina had been the one summoned to the Ready Room.

"A functioning *disruptor*?" The CO of the HATHOR inquired adding a raised eyebrow to emphasis her surprise. In order to avoid anyone being injured during the exercise set forth by 1st Lt. Pravat under the orders of Lt. Cmdr. Serenna, all of the weapons onboard the ship had been locked into a low stun setting… all save one.

"I was as surprised as you when I saw that the disruptor had been more than a replica… but since you had elected not to inform me of your little exercise, not that I believe that you were required to, I saw no reason to take the weapon away from Talia. Remember… as far as I was concerned, the ship had been taken over by a hostile force and I needed to help in whatever ways were available to me." Rikar explained, suspecting that the reason why she had been called had been about the breach of security that her daughter's weapon had represented.

"Corporal Yang suffered no permanent damage from the shot although she has been reported as saying that she still can't believe that Talia was so heavily armed." Serenna offered in a serious yet almost friendly manner.

"Speaking of injuries… how are Lt. Pravat and Ens. Rostov?" The ANUBIS' CO inquired, the news of the two men and of their injuries having reached every corner of the HATHOR in mere minutes.

"They are the reason why I have asked you here… I know that you are meant to be only an observer but given that the decisions I will be making will not only affect the distribution of duties on the HATHOR but also on the ANUBIS, I had wanted your input." The hybrid explained before sliding over the top of her desk a PADD containing the medical reports on the 2 men in question.

"Ouch… I had no idea." The young woman gasped as she read the list of injuries the HATHOR's Sec/Tac officer had been inflicted during his brawl in the ship's Mess Hall.

"The Marines reacted as they should have given the parameters of the exercise… the problem was that being shot with *5* weapons set on stun was never meant to happen. The combine force of those weapons added to the awkward way Ens. Rostov landed on the corner of the table just made a bad situation worse." The HATHOR's CO explained with a hint of sadness in her voice. As much as Serenna had learned over the years to keep her emotions in check, as any good Romulan would, it was easy to tell that the hybrid felt in some way guilty about Nico's condition. As a former Cns Rikar realised that this might not have been picked up by other members of the crew, aside from Ens. Mei, but that did not change the fact that Sabrina needed to keep her objectivity about the matter.

"So you want my opinion as to who should be placed in the Sec/Tac position in the meantime." The redheaded woman said as she leaned back into her chair. It all made sense since the list of injuries the ANUBIS' CO had read would force the Nausicaan to be on the sideline for quite a while.

"I was thinking that Uxtar would be a good choice… he proved himself and showed that he has what it takes." The half Human, half Romulan woman offered leaving the rest of her thoughts unspoken for the time being.

"Moving Uxtar from FCO to Sec/Tac does seem to make a lot of sense… but that would leave the position of FCO open. My guess is that you already have someone in mind to replace him there." The young woman grinned, never having known her ExO for opening any discussion without having explored all of the available possibilities beforehand.

"Ens. Stormwind is a qualified and experienced pilot." The woman sitting behind the desk admitted, flooring the young woman who had never expected to hear the name of the man who had just boarded the HATHOR spoken… especially not in regards to filling a vacant position.

"You are kidding right? I took the liberty of accessing his personnel file when I heard about his presence onboard… that man can hardly be called an officer of the fleet after the list of insubordination and confrontations that appear on his record. If you want him to be *your* FCO, that is your choice, but I can assure you that he will not set foot on the ANUBIS… not unless he wants to find himself on the wrong side of an airlock door." The young woman forcefully objected, apparently unwilling to give the Ensign even the slightest of chance to prove himself to her or the rest of the crew.

"Sabrina… he was ordered by Admiral Koneki to follow us and report on our progress. He defied orders to assist when he noticed that we had problems. Ens. Stormwind placed his life on the line to help perfect strangers… if that is not *officer* material I don't know what is." The hybrid said in defence of the man, having only briefly met him when he had come to the bridge to report in.

The young woman bolted out of her chair and found herself leaning against the desk of the ship's CO before she realised what she had been about to do… Serenna was the senior most officer onboard the HATHOR… not her.

"I am a mere observer on this mission… so you can do as you see fit. I agree that although the injuries suffered by Nico are excessive they do not require you to end this mission, but I will state for the record that I think you are making a very… and I mean *very* big mistake accepting this Ens. Stormwind as a member of the crew… regardless of what Koneki or even James might think." Rikar offered in a stern and direct tone before standing to her fullest height and nodding to the hybrid indicating that as far as the redheaded woman had been concerned… the meeting had ended.
