Setting: Aboard the VPT DRAGONSEYE in the USS HATHOR's Shuttlebay
Stardate: 60331.2245

The half-Vulcan was selecting personal items to be moved to his newly assigned quarters aboard the USS HATHOR. As he selected those items he most wanted his mind drifted back to when he stood before the ships CO and requested permission to come aboard.

Setting: USS HATHOR, Captains Ready Room
Stardate: 60331.2215

Serenna gazed steadily at the Ensign waiting for him to speak. The fact that he had boarded her ship, stunned members of her Marine force and had a ship virtually undetectable to scans made her wonder just who he was.

"Ensign Derek Stormwind reporting as ordered to the Captain. Request permission to come aboard." He stood tall even though his back still ached from the stun blast he had taken. Vulcan logic dictated that he show no emotion, and only tell what was within his orders. The fact that he blatently disregarded the Admirals orders he knew would be a factor in the rest of his tour.

The problem was his human half was currently in control of his mind and body, so his nervousness was showing. He knew he was in trouble again.

"Ensign as you have orders to the ANUBIS as FCO and because of your assistance in the recent'attack' upon the HATHOR. I am not sure just what to do with you. The way you boarded my ship definitly broke Starfleet Safety Regs ... I reviewed the visual logs of your unorthodox entry , and have to say that was some very fine piloting. The injuries to my crew have left a vacancy that needs to be filled and as you are qualified I am placing you as Acting FCO untill further notice." She glanced across the room and gave the sign of dismissal.

The surprise on his face must have been very obvious... "Yes M'am." Slowly turning he walked to the door and just as it opened...

"Oh and for the record... I expect ALL flight protocals and safety regulations to be followed from now on Mister!"

Looking over his shoulder he saw a momentary wisp of a smile cross her face... "Very good Sir!"

Stormwind contemplated the small candle on the floor in front of him. He was seeking as his mother had taught him. What he was doing was against all his Vulcan training and logic and yet his human half knew that to seek in this way worked. He slowly became one with his enviroment which is to say he could hear and feel things around him others could not. He was seeking peace within himself. For once again he had placed himself outside of the "norm" going completely against orders he had confessed to his new CO the full extent of the Admirals orders. But the real reason he sought a peace was the obvious couriousity and suspicion he felt from the crew. One half of his mind (the human half) worried that even just acting as the FCO was going to cause friction, yet his Vulcan half stated it was only logical as he was trained for the position and everyone would see this.

Somehow he knew his human side would win the arguement.

The Lt.Cmdr. had stated the obvious and he knew that once again he would have to prove himself not only as a pilot but as a crewmember.

This was not new to him his record was spotted with reprimands and Commanders comments. Even though he acted in good faith, it never seemed to turn out right.

The only thing he ever did right to both sides of his mind was the design and modifications to the DRAGONSEYE. But there too, like most of career he did not get to where he wanted... since neither the Vulcan fleet or Starfleet would certify its use. Now as it has always been he has been banned from flying on it and any maintenence must be done under the watchful eye the Engineering dept.

He slowly bent forward and extinguished his seeker candle. Standing he gazed around his new home and awaited his first duty shift.
