Stardate: 60339.1930
Setting: USS ANUBIS, CO's Ready Room

The young woman sat at her desk surrounded by complete stillness as she carefully reviewed the information that Admiral Koneki and Commodore Simmons had provided… at least what little they *had* given the ANUBIS' CO. Aside from the words of both high-ranking officers and the departure clearances which had already been issues, there had been no actual proof provided that the ILO had been in any way, shape or form alive… yet the redheaded woman could feel the seed of hope growing within her.

Admiral Koneki had given the young woman the scientific dynamic and formulas which he said would be the foundation for being able to bring Enaii back to the land of the living. What troubled the former CSciO was that the greater majority of what she had been reading over the last hour or so had been light-years over her head… which immediately disqualified the NEW ALEXANDRIA's Flag Officer as the originator of the process. Charles M. Koneki might have been a crafty Commander in Chief of the NEW ALEXANDRIA complex, an intuitive former Head of SFI, maybe even a skilful diplomat or considered as being a brilliant man… but he was far from having been an Einstein. As much as the redheaded woman had been grateful for what the Admiral had given her, Rikar had not been ready to give him credit for the work and research that had been done to lead to the final product which she now held in her hands.

The part of the complex equations that the young woman had been able to make sense of had led her to order the transfer of her life-mate's transporter pattern into a secured part of the memory core. Although this had been nothing more than an empty record of where each and every atom which comprised the body of the ILO had been, the former CSciO had realised that for this process to have the remote chance of success they would need to act in a matter measured in seconds, so any amount of advance preparation had been a welcomed advantage.

The sound of the door chime brought the young woman out of her deep concentration in a startle causing the ANUBIS' CO to instinctively hide the PADD she had been studying in one of her drawers before granting access into her office to whoever had been on the other side of the closed door. The moment the doors parted to reveal the ANUBIS' own ExO and CSciO, the young woman felt a sense of relief and discomfort wash through her mind, being both happy and concerned by the presence of the Shillian in her Ready Room.

"What can I do for you Maya?" The redheaded woman inquired beckoning the woman to step in and take a seat.

"As the ANUBIS' temporary First Officer am I not suppose to know everything you know about our upcoming mission? I mean should I not be informed about any and all aspects that may prove to have an impact, how ever small, on the development and outcome of our mission? Also, should such information have a scientific intonation, would it not make sense for me to be made aware of it so that any secondary research and required preparation be made well ahead so as to increase the probabilities of everything going as anticipated?" The Shillian inquired in what had come across as a single sentence spoken in 1 breath.

Despite the rather longwinded question which had seemed to cover as wide and general a field as could be, the young woman had immediately figured out what her ExO had referred to. Feeling somewhat awkward about not having done this earlier, the ANUBIS's CO reached for the PADD she had just put away and offered it to the inquisitive Shillian who had discovered the omission far more rapidly than the CO would have expected.

"I am sorry… I should have brought this to your attention right away, but to be honest I was not entirely certain that it made sense or that you would not think me crazy for believing that this might actually work." As she spoke the young woman carefully watched the CSciO as she scrutinized the content of the PADD, glad to see that even the Shillian had found it difficult to follow the scientific process described.

"Captain… I would never have passed judgement on your reasoning, and agree that however small the chance may be, the possibility of bringing your wife back needs to be explored to its fullest regardless of how improbable of complex the process may prove to be. If someone offered me a way to bring a single member of my race back from the oblivion they were cast into, I would embrace it and do everything in my ability to see the process reach completion. Even if it did fail I would at least have the satisfaction of having tried something that I had not previously thought of." The Shillian explained, her words heavily weighed by her own personal emotions brought on by a unique understanding and perception of the situation the young woman had found herself in the middle of.

"You would think that as a former Cns I would have been able to know that… again I am sorry. I should have brought you into this as soon as I was made aware of the possibility and ask for your input and recommendations. If this is to work, I know that it will do so only because of your expertise." The ANUBIS' CO admitted as she leaned forward over her desk while feeling truly awkward about not having realised before now that her ExO and CSciO had been a key element to making this plan work.

"Maybe you did the right thing… I mean if you had showed me this from the get go I would have probably not looked at it in the same way that I currently am. It will take me several hours to decipher and make sense of some of these formulas, but I will give it my all and bring back to you a summary before we leave NEW ALEXANDRIA tomorrow morning." The Shillian said while continuing to scrutinize the information contained on the PADD, her curiosity having obviously been triggered to its highest level.

"Thank you Maya…" The young woman offered as she smiled at the CSciO who had gotten up from her chair and headed back towards the bridge without taking her eyes off the PADD or acknowledging the CO in any way.
