Setting: USS HATHOR, Bridge
Feeling the soreness in her neck the Romulan/Terran
hybrid struggled through the HATHOR's bridge to check
on everyone, only half aware of the flashing control
stations and the disoriented people around her. "All
hands report!"
Rushing into the bridge at that moment the CMO was
directed to the fallen CNS by the Romulan/Terran
hybrid who although had been very concerned for Ens.
Mei's condition had not have the time to dedicate to a
single member of the crew while the status of the
entire ship had still been in question. Seeing each
of the officers pulling themselves back to their
stations, the CO approached the Sec/Tac officer while
keeping her hopes for the ship and crew in check.
Looking through the tactical data on his console
which were flashing on and off, the Hirogen tried his
best to give the CO the report that she had requested.
"External sensors are offline; there is no way for us
to know what happened, at least not entirely.
Internal sensors show not hull breaches, so it is safe
to say that we are still in one piece."
Cutting in with his own report, the XO turned to face
his former Academy classmate and current CO of the
HATHOR. "We may be in one piece, but we are
*visible*, the cloaking device is offline and I can't
get in touch with anyone in Main Engineering to
confirm as to how bad things are."
Understanding by what he had said that David had
wanted to leave the bridge to take care of this
situation as he knew best, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
dismissed her XO with a nod of her head and turned her
attention to the COO. "What happened?"
Appearing rattled, Ens. Kea took a moment to process
the CO's question and to call up whatever information
might be useful onto his control panel. Searching
through the data the COO quickly realized that he had
been unable to give any sort of adequate answer to the
waiting hybrid. "I'm not sure, half of the systems
are offline, and those that are not are at this moment
failing to respond. Even the computer seems to be
suffering from some kind of lag."
Interrupting the conversation, the CMO had not cared
for the current state of the ship but rather for the
condition in which she had found her friend in. "I
need a site-to-site transport to Sickbay *NOW*!"
Looking at the CMO through the flickering lights on
the bridge, the CO could only guess as to the
condition of their CNS and came to see that the
situation had been worse than expected when the COO
shook his head. Beaming the injured woman and
physician had not been possible at this time thanks to
the condition of the ship's systems.
Bouncing out of his chair, the FCO crossed the length
of the bridge in a matter of seconds stopping only
briefly next to the Romulan/Terran hybrid to give his
report. "Navigation is offline, as far as I can tell
we're drifting. There is nothing I can do here right
at this moment."
Accepting the unspoken *logic* implied by Ens.
Stormwind, the CO gave the go ahead for him to assist
Doctor Summers in taking Ens. Mei to Sickbay while the
rest of the bridge crew continued with their work to
restore the HATHOR to full operational status.
Kneeling next to the fallen CNS, the half Vulcan FCO
carefully took hold of the unconscious woman and
cradled her into his harms letting the CMO lead to way
back to the ship's Sickbay.
Dealing with the departures of her XO and FCO, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid quickly figured that she would
need to take a more active role in the restoration of
the ship's systems. Having her primary experience in
the field of Security, the hybrid dismissed the
Hirogen back to the HATHOR's helm while she tried to
get the tactical systems at least partially back.
Doing what he could from the Ops station, the COO
tried his best to get a grasp of their situation not
having found as of yet any reason for the state in
which the ship had been in. According to the last
sensor readings, the HATHOR had triggered the energy
pulse a fraction of a second before the ship was *hit*
and everything onboard went dark. Trying to piece the
puzzle together, Ens. Kea could only surmise that the
energy pulse had triggered some kind of yet to be
determined effect from the probe causing all of the
systems to become inoperative. Signing in despair,
the COO admitted partial defeat as he glared at his
console, "There is no use. None of the systems are
operational including auxiliary and emergency power.
I can't even tell if life support is working or not,
although I'm sure it won't take us all that long to find out."
Growing increasingly annoyed with his lack of
progress at the helm, Ens. Uxtar joined in with the
displeasure of their situation. "We are dead in space
and there is nothing we can do. Even if we had wanted
to launch the DRAGONSEYE there is not enough power to
open the shuttle bay doors."
Instinctively reaching for her commbadge only to be
reminded that none of the ship's systems including
internal communications had been working, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid turned to the COO. "Let's get
life support working or at least make sure that it is
first and above all else, we didn’t come all the way
out here to give the Imperians exactly what they
wanted without a fight."
Turning back to look at the Hirogen now sitting at
the HATHOR's helm the CO was surprised to see the
bridge suddenly back to full illumination. Going on a
hunch the Romulan/Terran hybrid tapped her commbadge
and was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the chirp
indicating that a channel had been opened. "Bridge to
engineering, report."
Sounding rather pleased with himself, the XO/CEO
answered the call of the ship's CO. =/\= Whatever
that probe was meant to do the pulse we sent out
created some kind of energy backlash that knocked all
of our systems offline. Everything should be back in
a few minutes. =/\=
Accessing the ship's systems as they once again
became available; the Sec/Tac officer drew the
attention of the Romulan/Terran hybrid to the main
view screen which displayed the apparently inactive
probe ominously hovering in space only yards away from
their hull.
