Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor

Their ultimate destination had still been several hours away at maximum speed, so far away still that the long-range sensors had yet to be able to find the planet or the star that it orbited. Luckily though the sensors had also failed to pickup any signs of anything resembling a Cardassian patrol, a probe or any other type of mechanical entity bent on the annihilation of all life in this galaxy. Although both the USS HATHOR and USS ANUBIS had remained at 'Yellow Alert' status, the immediate lack of apparent threat had given each and every officer some well earned time to get some preparatory work done or better yet relax even if only a little.

The Shillian woman had decided to make use of this downtime and check on Talia while her adoptive mother was on duty on the bridge. With all of the chaos and tribulations that had taken over both ships because of their dealing with the Imperians, the daughter of the Intelligence Liaison Officer had been for all intents and purposes forgotten by even those closest to her. This had not meant that the Chief Science Officer had been concerned for the well being of the child, Talia having been as well equipped and trained to take care of herself as most of the Officers onboard the Intelligence Cruiser.

Because she had expected the daughter of Lieutenant Commander Enaii to be wide awake in anticipation of seeing her mother once again, the Shillian woman had been somewhat surprised to see her requests to gain access to the quarters met with utter silence. At first the Chief Science Officer had thought that Talia had simply been asleep but after having stepped inside the Shillian had found the quarters completely empty of any life which included the child and the pet monkey.

Immediately the acting Executive Officer reached for her communicator and requested the location of Talia from the computer, silently hoping that the child had not somehow found a way to get herself into any sort of trouble. The Chief Science Officer was only partially relieved when she was informed that the daughter of the Intelligence Liaison Officer had been inside the highly classified and restricted area of the ANUBIS known as the Intelligence Gathering Center or IGC.

To say that the Intelligence Gathering Center was a highly secured area of the USS ANUBIS would have been nothing short of a monumental understatement. Even while carrying the access clearance of the Executive Officer, the Shillian scientist had been required to go through multiple checkpoints to confirm both her identity and clearances. To imagine that a simple child, even one who had for mothers the head of the Intelligence department and the Commanding Officer of this ship was something of a difficult idea to accept.

What had proven to be even more of a surprise for the Shillian woman as she entered the main area of the Intelligence Gathering Center had been to find Talia sitting at the supervisor station where her mother would have normally been found if she had not been in her office. Dressed in the grey colours of Intel, the child appeared to be exactly where she belonged, at ease with her surroundings and apparently performing several tasks while the rest of the staff of the department carried on with their own duties.

"Mahia," Talia beamed as she watched the Shillian woman approach, the scientist looking pleased and confused at having found the child where she had.

"Talia," the Shillian scientist said leaning over the Intelligence Control consol, "why are you here?"

The daughter of the Intelligence Liaison Officer tilted her head to one side and looked upon the Shillian as if the question had been completely out of context. Had the scientist spoke a language unknown to Talia, the look that the youngest member of the Draxx family had given to the Executive Officer would have been exactly the same.

"Looking for Nan'Ha," the child replied in a matter-of-fact way glaring at the scientist as if she should have already known this through simple deduction.

The Shillian scientist remained silent, which by itself had been a historical feat, stunned into a daze by what the child had done and further intended to do. To see a child wanting to find her mother had not been anything overly special, but to see how resourceful and determined Talia had been had proven to be more than the Chief Science Officer had expected or had been able to process at that particular time.
