The half human FCO had set an intercept course that kept not only the HATHOR
but the major portion of SURIAL lll between the *void* and the ANUBIS. He
knew that if, as logic dictated the "mass" was some type of Imperian mother
ship he would not be able to use any of the ships auto-controls. He prepared
all his manual overrides just in case.
The Romulan hybrid in the center chair glanced around her bridge at her
crew. She was aware that once again her ship and crew had to become the main
target, and she did not like it. With a soft sigh of resignation she turned
forward.
"Well Ensign Stormwind, I think now is the time for you to shine," reaching
down to the arm of her chair she open the ship wide comm… "All hands this is
the Captain, prepare for violent maneuvers."
Derek looked at his commanding officer and knew he could not let her down.
Glancing over at his Hirogen friend at tactical, "Uxtar are you ready for
*Dragonattack plan 3 and 5?*"
Ensign Uxtar looked at his friend and remembered the many hours of pilot
training they did with the DRAGONSEYE. A much smaller ship than the HATHOR,
and made for the type of maneuvers he remembered. "If you are sure my
friend, we will share this hunt together. I am ready."
The only change in the FCO's face was the slight raising of his eyebrow.
Glancing once again at the blond woman who had placed so much trust in him,
he turned to his controls. "Initiate on my mark…MARK!"
The half Vulcan's hands flew over his controls. The HATHOR banked over to
the left almost at a full 90 degrees, and at the same time dropped like a
rock, with the inertial dampners screaming in protest and the bridge crew
grabbing for anything to hold on to, the ship momentarily righted itsself
than banked hard to the right, and than climbed back up to an even keel
having dived under and coming up behind the *mass*.
During this maneuver the SEC/TAC officer had made copious use of all
available weapons systems. Firing at point blank range he spaced out the
targeting trying to cause as much contact as possible hoping to draw the
*ship* after the HATHOR.
As the HATHOR returned to it's original flight level, the FCO's fingers
continued to fly over his controls. He spun the ship through a flat 180
degree spin placing the ship bow on but in full reverse.
David the XO/CEO looked up from his board, first to glare at the half
Vulcan, than to make his report… "Sensors still get no readings, we appear
to have had no effect on the *mass*. Damage reports coming in… mostly
minor, shields down to 80%... No injuries reported."
Serenna asked the one question they all wondered about… "Is it still on
course for the planet?"
Her XO turned again to his board… "It's hard to tell Captain… it appears to
be… wait… the aspect ratio seems to be changing, yes the edges appear to be
rotating…" After studing his screen a few moments more he turned to face his
friend and Commander. "Captain we are being persued by the *mass*. It
appears that our two Ensigns have succeeded."
Derek knowing that their speed in reverse was limited quickly spun the ship
back to the proper heading and put the main view screen to a reverse view.
The Romulan hybrid stared at the screen, the *mass* having been outlined by
the computer as an anomaly. Leaning back in the command chair she voiced
what everyone else was thinking. "Now that we have *its* attention… what's
next?"
