Setting: IRRAJ, Royal Palace, Underground Dungeon
Stardate: 61015.0045

Lea watched the resting CSciO with mixed emotions. Part of the CMO had been terrified and discouraged. This had been yet another away mission in which Lea had found a way to be captured. The CMO had not gone out of her way to make it so; it just seemed to happen that way. So far her track record had been less than stellar in that regard. The odds, it seemed, were well in favour of her getting abducted or captured regardless of what their mission was. With each passing mission Lea feared that Sabrina would put an end to this habit. What CO would want to have a CMO who always finds a way to be captured by whatever aliens they encounter?

The only saving grace this time around had been that Lea was not alone. Misery, as they say, loves company, and the CMO found some comfort in the knowledge that this time around she had not been the only one captured. True this had provided very little comfort, but some comfort nonetheless. No one, not even the ANUBIS' CO could fault Lea for this. At least this time the CMO could concentrate on Maya over anything else.

[[How are you doing Lea?]] David asked. Maybe the CEO had grown tired of the silence. Maybe he had been concerned about the CMO. Maybe it had been his way to make sure that the CMO and CSciO had still been alive. Whatever the reason had been Lea had been more than happy to her David's voice.

"I'm fine," Lea replied in a far joyous tone than she should have given the circumstances. "At least this time I'm not tied to a chair with a madman lurking over me like a vulture."

David chuckled as he recalled the mission to the TANGIERS ORBITAL. During that mission the CEO had burst in to rescue the trapped CMO from the clutches of a rogue Romulan and Cardassian. This time around though David would not be able to mount any sort of rescue. The CEO had found himself in the same predicament as the Doctor and so far the door to the cell had failed to cooperate.

[[Don't worry,]] David said in a reassuring voice. [[We'll get you out of there soon.]]

No one commented. As good as the promise had sounded; everyone knew that there had been no way for any of them to escape. At least not without some help from the outside.

[[Doctor,]] Sabrina jumped in with after a few minutes. [[How is our *Shillian* doing?]]

Lea thought it strange that the Captain would refer to Maya in such an impersonal way. Given the situation any other way of naming the CSciO would have been better. Then it hit the CMO like a runaway warp cruiser. Since there was a good chance that someone had been eavesdropping on their conversation, certain precautions had to be taken. The CO could not openly ask about Maya's unique abilities without revealing them to anyone listening.

The CMO turned and studied the resting Shillian. As a bird or whatever animal firm Maya could transform into, the CSciO could escape from their cell. The bars on the doors had been wide enough apart to allow a small creature to pass through. The problem was that Maya had been injured and had still been very weak.

"I'm not sure Captain," Lea replied now that she understood the true purpose of the question. "She is very weak and may require several hours to rest. By then I may be able to better answer your question."

[[It looks like we are here to stay, that we like it or not,]] Serenna announced dryly as only the Romulan hybrid could.

"You really know how to cheer someone up Commander." Lea sarcastically said in return before returning to her patient's side.
