Stardate: 61015.1100
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Hanger deck

Standing by the entrance hatch to the DRAGONSEYE, Derek watched silently as members of the ships engineering crew work diligently to return the ship to its former condition. Having left IRRAJ 2 hours behind the ANUBIS he had returned during the last hour, an hour that was mostly spent being debriefed by the Captain. Once again finding himself on her bad side.

Captain Rikar had been most eloquent in her comments, letting him know in no uncertain terms that ALL ancillary medical decisions were hers to make, and though his implants had been a help they were not authorized. He was to be allowed to keep his as he had had them prior to assignment; however Uxtar’s were to be removed. She also ordered him to once again place the DRAGONSEYE into lockdown… after it had been returned to normal and its system had been fully checked.

The FCO sighed and entered the ship to begin the process of shutting her down. As he looked forward toward the pilot's seat his mind went back to when he and Ensign Mei had again linked and he had reopened her memories. Things had happened so fast after that that there had been no time for them to talk about the situation. He had prepared himself for anger, disgust even the possibility of violence… he was not prepared for the silence, the absence of any type of acknowledgement.

The half Vulcan Ensign sat and began the ships diagnostics program. Looking back on the mission, even though it was a basic success he was not sure that he had not violated the Prime Directive by assisting in the starting of a civil war. The attack on the upper portions of the Royal Palace had been intended as a diversion to help in the rescue of the landing party… Yet when he had lifted off there was a full blown revolution brewing.

Well at least the Captain had not brought that up.

Derek knew things could change quickly once they returned to NEW ALEXANDRIA and the Admiral looked over the mission records. He could only hope he would remain on some type of flying status. He knew the Captain still had doubts about him, and maybe she was justified, after all he had not truly acquitted himself as well as to be expected.

Using the ships transporter the FCO sent a number of personal items to his quarters. With the diagnostics complete he powered down all systems and exited the DRAGONSEYE. Looking back only once as he left the hanger deck.

Stardate: 61015.1130
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Crews mess

Stormwind sat alone at a corner table nursing his drink and meal. But it had not escaped his attention that many of the crew looked at him a little strange and than began to whisper. He should have realized that there can be no secrets on an intelligence ship. Well he had been here before; only this time it was a little different to him, this time he wanted to stay on board. He had great respect for the Captain and her XO. Not to mention that big Hirogen he called a friend. He had often pushed the envelope before with varying results. But this time he was sure he had gone too far.

Derek could feel the dark human emotions trying to escape. Often before it had been hard for his Vulcan half to manage to suppress them, but this time the Vulcan had help… from the human half’s own softer emotions.

Carefully setting his Vulcan mind in control the ANUBIS'S FCO determined that he would face what comes with strength and honor. Let the crew talk and whisper, all they had was rumor, only three people to his knowledge knew the truth. Finishing his drink he stood tall and headed for the bridge and his assigned duties.
