Our weekend escapades...
Another wacky bike adventure by me and my good mountain-biking girlfriends. It was last October 10,2004, 530am when we all decided to meet up in a McDonald's store in Pasong Tamo in Makati. Our destination: to be able to ride all the way to Antipolo Church via Sumulong Hi-way and have a good lunch in Balaw-Balaw Restaurant in Angono Rizal.

It was such a pleasant and fun ride as our posse enjoyed laughing heartily while we bumpily ride the streets of the city as we pass along Makati, Mandaluyong, Ortigas, Santolan, Marikina and Marcos Hi-way. From there its all the way up to Sumulong Hi-way threading all the way to the church of Antipolo. It was such an ardous but fun ride for all of us!

After reaching the church, we're all heading for lunch to pacify our thirst and hunger. I mean, everybody is so hungry that we're all determined to have a grand feast in Balaw-Balaw Restaurant.  And be able to go there the soonest possible time!  One good thing is that the ride down to Angono from the church of Antipolo proved to be effortless -- though a bit scary - as it is all the way downhill biking up to the junction area where we have to turn right towards Taytay Rizal. From then on it was all flat riding all the way to our final destination.

The feast in the restaurant was very inviting for us hungry and weary cyclists. The food was a treat and the serving was good. Everything was a mouthful and we were all satisfied. The added bonus was Brian playing the piano for us as we sang nice filipino popular songs. We turned the whole place into our own special party place.

From that adventure was born... and was called our own
Bike -to-Eat Rides! We all decided that we would ride to the limits then rewards ourselves by going to some new restaurant afterwards. We made plans of going places -- just in our bikes and have some fotos taken, enjoy good food, interact and mingle with the locals to know more about them, and plainly to become tourists ourselves to our very own country!

We're all looking forward to our next Bike-to-Eat adventure.
* Photos above were taken in one of our rides in Antipolo Church (above), and in Balaw-Balaw Restaurant in Angono Rizal (second and third).
* In the group were me with Melissa, Jessica, Rochelle, Jenmai, Brian. It was such fun to bike to places and enjoy the good food afterwards. We even got the chance to have fun with the piano and a couple of songs!
This time, November 6, 2004, we're off to another adventurous biking ride with our friends. We opted instead to bike around the city and try to see what we can discover something exciting about it.

As usual we met 530am in the same McDonald's store in makati. Our group this time is composed of me with Melissa, Rochelle, Jessica, Jenmai, and Maribon.

The weather was overcast and with some rainshowers that day. Despite of that situation, all the girls are all raring to go! Hehe. We started from the store then pedaled towards Fort Bonifacio Gate 3 via Pasong Tamo Extension route. From there we crossed SLEX bridge via Villamor and snacked our way all the way to Alabang Muntinlupa using the service road (passing thru Merville, Bicutan, and Sucat). All throughout that ride, people in cars, jeeps, other vehicles, and pedestrians are all awed with us. Probably thinking why us crazy cyclists are pedaling under a strong downpour!

Crazy people like us really makes other people wonder! Hehe.

Upon reaching McDonald's in Ayala Town Center, we met up with another female cyclist, Rizzo Tangan, and another male mountain-biker.

After the usually things that we do in a rest-stop a.k.a. photo op. (hehe), we all decided to take a leisure spin towards Daang-Hari road towards Molino Cavite. It was an uneventful ride.

Then after, we all agreed to eat in one small cafeteria that welcomes weary cyclists (all city-smogged and rained at) and had a decent meal of rice, tapas, eggs, and ice-cold softdrinks.

Going home, we decided to trooped towards the famous Bamboo Organ Church in Tambo Paranaque. Snaking the narrow streets and dodging crazy jeepneys, we finally reached our destination. We had our souvenir photos taken, and had a lively stories of ghosts with the caretaker. It was a simple but fun-filled memory of a good short ride.
And capping it with a cold Halo-halo snacks back in makati by 3pm!
