Another biking story to tell... |

Just another adventure in mountain-biking. December 2003, when my good friend Angela visited (again! hehehe) for the nth time us here in Manila, we hastily organized a biking trip up south... in Mt. Makiling.
It was last Dec. 22,2003, me with Oliver Chua, Bambi Vasquez, and Angela Canares trooped to meet other mountain-bikers like Lenard Lopez, Rizzo Tangan plus other gracious cyclists from Laguna who joined us biking all the way to the top of the mountain.
With only through sheer determination and tenacity to achieve in conquering Mt. Makiling, we enjoyed every minute of the lovely nature of the forest as it is being covered by canopy by canopies of lush trees abundant in the area.
Our reward to the effort was the sheer fun albeit scary downhilling the mountain. |

My Kind of Tour... |

This time it was another kind of adventure.The type of thrill that will bring together thousands of cyclists all over Metro Manila for a critical mass ride. This is called the Tour of the Fireflies.
April 18,2004 was the date set for the event. Everyone converged as early as 5 a.m. at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila City. The daunting task to be accomplished: be able to bike-ride seven cities in Metro Manila, at an average speed of only 10-15kph, with around 2,500 cyclists. All under the sweltering heat of the April summer sun! The route covered Manila-Pasay-Paranaque-Las Pinas-Makati-Manila. All 50kms. of sheer fun, excitement, adventure and camaraderie of different cyclists in the city.
The event is organized and held annually by
The Firefly Brigade and a lot of cheerful faces always looks forward to this annual ride event. We hope others can join us next summer!
I immensely enjoyed this event as most cycling friends like Maribon Bernardo and Maripi Garcia joined me as we happily pedal our way around the city under the sweltering summer sun. |

It happened last November 17,2003, group of mountain-bikers converged and meet up in the rest stop in the Sta. Rosa Trails in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Everyone enjoyed the usually happy and fun ride along the trails, plus you usually get the chance to meet new friends too! |

A group of mountainbikers in Sta. Rosa Trails last November 17, 2003... everyone exhausted but still manages a smile after some gruelling uphill climbs. After this rest stop and photo session, its all the way downhill to a road with full view of pineapple plantation! |
