...The Nine...

Hurt did not describe the excrutiating pain that radiated through The Nine as Mayoke's spell took hold. They thought they had felt pain before, Acerbu had been pierced by a poisoned arrow from the Imp tribe in Atrox and lay in feverish agony for days; Daichi had nearly had her leg bitten off by a Oil Shark and would have bled to death had Fona not found her. Blood-boiling, white hot pain coursed through their veins like fire, their screams and bellows drove any living thing for miles from their nests and roosts. Only Mayoke seemed immune, sitting serenely, claws that were increasingly turning to fingers continuing to draw the marks of the spell. At last, with a burst of silver light the spell was complete and the pain vanished without a trace left behind. They stood, examining bodies they thought they would never see again.

"The changes are always temporary, only five or six hours at most, then you must resume dragon-form for another twelve hours." Mayoke said calmly. "Only six hours?" Acerbu said, his face astonished. Mayoke glared at him with a slightly less misty gaze. "Even Venia could not restore our original bodies, be thankful that I have allowed temporary shifts." she said sharply. "She is right brother, beggars cannot be choosers at this time. Now, Kokuuzou, how will you get the coordinates to send us to these places?" Daichi, ecstatically jumping around in her human form, stopped mid-jump and said, "I already said Mayoke could forsee where we are to go!" "Her premonitions aren't exactly timeable, Dai. They're random." Silvus said in his deep, booming voice. Fona nodded, "But if she touches you or something of yours and concentrates, she can kind of force them, right? You did it when Atrox was about to send it's biggest wave through the breech."

Mayoke watched them all, looking only slightly flustered that all this attention was being placed upon her. Ignis spoke up then, a torn look on his face. "There is one thing we're forgetting, it will still be three more days until our dragon forms become full-grown. I don't think we want to leave just yet when our primary form is still immature." he said.
