It started even before she'd managed to struggle from her egg at the hatching. Most of it was with herself, some with interfering siblings, No... I dun wanna. I'm not ready yet. It can't be time. IT'S NOT TIME! The next thing she knew her world was all coldness and bright lights. Despite her internal unwillingness, her body had kicked it's way free from her shell. She rose, grumbling, and began to groom sticky egg fluid from her fur.
The siblings that had hatched around her steered away from the grouchy newborn, hearing the curses she muttered under her mental breath. At last she deemed herself clean and took her first glance at the hopeful bonders. Feh, no one here is right! That one's too tall... too short... too happy... too weird... too plain... And no. Just... no. So the little catdragon continued her search. For what, she didn't really know.
"Stupid Geperna and his damn quest to make everyone do just what they don't want to." Inabikari growled under his breath as he watched the annoying little kits hatch and fan themselves out between the candidates. He was supposed to be sponsoring one in behalf of Draco's Inferno and on Cyizo's orders, but truly he couldn't be fussed if one came either way. Everything he'd seen here was just a little too... fuzzy for him. At last the flow seemed to be slowing, no more eggs remained whole and what kits left were heading decidedly away from the large, frightening-looking catdragon. He was pleased. The last think Inabikari wanted was one of those little fuzz-mongers to tend to. No, he wanted to look for a specific kind of sponsorling.
Just when he thought he might be getting off free with this first trip into the fine world of sponsoring, Inabikari was surprised to see a female kitten glowering up at him. "What?"
You're in my way. she growled back, scowling.
"....How am I in your way? There's plenty of floor to go around."
You just are, now MOVE your fuzzy black hind-end out of my way! and the kitten butted him in his plated chest, trying to use her tiny horn-stubs to cause pain. Inabikari just watched, one eyebrow raised. "That's it, you're coming with me." he finally said, lifting the kitten up by the scruff of the neck. Me, go with you? Says who? Her deep orange eyes burned with belligerence. "Says me, the bigger, older, stronger, and smarter of the two." It looked as though if she were not being held up off the ground by her captor, the kitten would have had a whole lot to say on that subject. "What's your name?"
Chuh, I'm not telling YOU... "Her NAME is Symphonious." a passing sibling supplied, sneering up at Symphonious. The suspended kitten stuck her tongue out as her sibling passed. "Symphonious, eh? My name is Inabikari. I think this will be the beginning of a beautiful... cooperation?"
Symphonious rolled her eyes. I HIGHLY doubt that...
