| Friday 14th Today my school started spring break (so school holidays). Same for my little host sister (Yuumi), which was good. My host mum, grandma, sister and me went out to lunch and shopping. We went to another of the restaurants were you cook your own meat it was a great meal. We spent nearly the whole day out and got home late. Saturday 15th Today I did a bit more of the really hard puzzle. Watched Toy Story in Japanese and then went to the Library with Yuumi. The library had so many kids books it was great. I borrowed 7 childrenfs books that Ifm going to try and read I also got a Japanese library card, which I thought was pretty cool. When I got home me and Yuumi set up a train track but the train wouldnft work we couldnft figure out why. After that I was happy to find out the adapter for my video camera had arrived in the mail so now I can recharge the battery and get it working again. Sunday 16th Today I went to a special Japanese culture expedition at the town hall. It was great I participated in a tea ceremony. Watch the Japanese drummers and play some Japanese childrenfs games one was called kingyo sukui were you try and catch these little fish with a paper scope but after about 5 scopes the paper rips and you cant catch any more. It was lots of fun some people were really good at it and got heaps. Yuumi and me did OK we played 5 times Yuumi played 3 and got 11 fish and I played 2 and got 10. They also had Japanese flower arrangements and hand made Japanese dolls to look at that were very beautiful. After getting home and having lunch we put the fish into a fish tank then Yuumi and me did some woodcarving. After making a mess we went out shopping with my host mum. So I could buy a camera. It took me a while to choose which one but I finally made a decision and think it was a good one. Monday 17th I canft remember what I did. Tuesday 18th Two months WOW Today I went to my host sisterfs school with my host brother to drop something off to her that she had forgotten. It was my first time to see her school and quite interesting. Wednesday 19th Today I watched Tarzan the movie in Japanese. I also studied some Japanese (like I try to do everyday) and did some more wood carving with my host sister. Thursday 20th Today I went to school. It was OK but a bit boring. Lucky it was only a short day. When I got home I watched Toy Story 2 in Japanese. Friday 21st Today I received a parcel from my first host family in it was a tin filled with candy and chocolates and some photos. It also had a letter with it from my friend Loz. After getting the parcel I called my host family to say thank you. They were surprised at my Japanese (even though I donft think it was real good). Latter on I met one of my host Aunties she is an English teacher we chatted for a while in both English and Japanese. I also met her son my host cousin I suppose. They were both very glad to talk to me. Tonight went to bed early because I have to wake up at 4:40am tomorrow. Saturday 22nd Disneyland It was heaps of fun DISNEY LAND REPORT Sunday 23rd Didnft do much today tiered after having lots of fun yesterday. I sure needed the rest. Monday 24th Today went to school for a while so the kids that do the school newspaper could interview me, it went well. After the interview I talked to the assistant English teacher for a while. It was a good day. Tuesday 25th Today went on the net watched Tarzan again and went shopping with my host mum and sister. When I got home I went on the net again and was able to chat to my family. Wednesday 26th Played the Nintendo with my host sister. Went to a welcome party that Deonnefs new host family held for her. My little host sister went with me. We had Dinner and played games outside since the weather was nice. It was lots of fun. Thursday 27th My little host sister and me took Gunta (host dog) for a walk like we do regularly. I also watched some Japanese animation movies. Friday 28th Didnft do much today (had a bit of a cold lately) Watched Shriek in Japanese. I also thought my little host sister some English. It was good because I learnt Japanese from it. Saturday 29th Today I went with my host sister to get her hair cut. It was good we looked around some shops and took some purikura together. It was a good day. Sunday 30th Went out with some of the inbound and outbound exchange students. We went to karaoke, which was a lot of fun. Then after that we had tea together. It was another great day out. Monday 31st My host sister and me rode bikes into town to the library to drop off some books. I spend a lot of time with my little host sister because my big host sister is always playing tennis. |
