| Trick # 11 Chromatic Octive Run : And finally the lick which I call the "Chromatic Octive Run", is a favourate pet lick of Django's that you will hear in many of his recordings. There are many variations to it and a basic one goes like the following: 1 Play the note on the third string say, F on 10th fret, 2 Play the note an octive above on 1st string, F on 13fret, 3 Play the note on the third string, F on 10th fret again but this time after striking the string, slide down one fret, 4 Play the note an octive above on the 1st string, ie E on 12th fret. 5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 but with the notes you end up with on the 3rd sting . 6 Repeat 5 listen to an example here (listen) |
