My name is Dorothy and I live in Northern California. I have a 24 year old daughter who is married and lives near me and a 22 year old who recently moved back home. Heather and Savannah. Heather is married to Steven and they are living in an apartment about a block from me. My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on April 26th!! I am very much interested in speaking with parents of children who have had problems with bulemia, depression, suicide attempts, self mutilation, drug abuse, ect. Perhaps we can help one another with how to deal with the emotional problems that teens have today. Please email me with your thoughts and ideas. I feel my greatest strength is through the Lord. My daughter will ask why God is doing this to her. I don't have the answers, but I know that He is with her. And perhaps some day she will be able to help other teens having the same problems that she is having now. God is my rock. The rest of my strength comes from my family and friends. I am blessed to have many family members who live near me. And to have some wonderful friends and coworkers. They always are there to help see me through in any crises. To the many teens out there who at any moment may be considering suicide, don't do it. You are a wonderful unique individual. Suicide is permanent. There is someone who cares. Someone who will miss you. I know that God cares. He loves you. Suicide is tragic and devastating to the family and friends that you leave behind. Find someone to talk to, a friend, family member, pastor, teacher, counselor. Whoever, just find someone. DON'T DO IT!!!! Suicide is not the answer, it only seems like the only way out, but there is help out there for you. Please find it. Go to my page titled Suicide for more information.
