CRANACHAN A four piece band I formed with fiddler Gregor Borland, Ali Wilson drums, and Roy Martin on bass. We sometimes have a fifth member which was at first Laurie Ball (keyboards and accordion) but because of other commitments we have had an array of talent helping us out over the years including – Jason Dove, Paul Brand, Andy Montgomerie and Alan Leckie. The band continue to play locally as a four piece. I fill in with them on the odd occaission. |

AVALON A Celtic rock group with which I spent two great years. Some fantastic material spanning four albums. Sadly I had to leave due to financial embarrassment and the fact that their best days were before I joined. I’ve heard recently that they are no longer going. |
Lindisfarne A wonderful web site from one of my favourite bands. Sadly -As of 1st November 2003 - defunct. From this band was formed Jack the lad a very different kind of folk group whose influence changed my thoughts on folk music. The lads played in Edinburgh at the end of October & I went along to wish them well. I met & played with them at the Litchfield Folk Fest 2000 & regard it as one of the highlights of my life. The site is still up & running & has lots of stuff including song words and chords. I still miss Alun Hull he was one of my favourite writers. GREAT WEBSITE! |
Burach Band featuring Gregor Borland. This is very much a working band ,constantly touring the world in search of fame and now starting to generate great acclaim. With the added talents of Sandy Brechin and Gregor they are quite a formidable band.We have actually played together under the auspice "HELP MA BOAB!" |

The ABBA Experience Another tribute band that I have thoroughly enjoyed filling in with on guitar. Some really big gigs for a copy band and always great live. Probably because the girls are such good singers that they stand apart from the rest. Contact Tina or Danny on 0131 538 1974 |

North Sea Gas Edinburgh’s traditional folk vocal outfit regularly touring around the world. Admirably led by Dave Gilfillan who recently told me that they were about to celebrate 25 years in the business. During this time there have been many changes in line-up as well as a good number of albums recorded. |
