Yesterday was a pretty uneventful day. Went to work at 4pm and left work 2 hours early at 10pm. Pretty much bummed around at home trying to get stuff done.

This morning went to work early. Made my return flight reservations from San Diego to Philly. I booked a 1st class ticket on Delta for cheaper than coach class. I'm not sure how that works, but I hope I don't have any problems getting it expensed through work. We aren't supposed to book 1st class travel, but I think in this case they should make an exception. We'll see.

Early tomorrow morning I'll be flying out of Philly to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I hope everything goes smoothly. I'll be away until next Saturday. Bye until then.

Nothing really to report other than it's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring.

Hmmm...I gotta write something interesting huh? Last night I slept downstairs because I couldn't fall asleep. I stayed up watching some TV before falling asleep. Got to work around 10:30am.

I'm watching TV right now and I just saw a political ad, and here's what I think is a stupid trend. "I'm (so and so) and I approve of this message." WHO CARES!!! You sound like a DAMN IDIOT for being a copy cat, and worst of all, for choosing George Bush to copy off of. I hate politics...but it's a necessary evil.

Went to a church picnic and service. It was pretty cool because it was the first time we've had a church service outdoors like this. It was pretty cool. After service we had the picnic, and then the rain came. I only took like 2 pictures of the picnic. Check them out at My Yahoo Photo album and click on Church Picnic.

I took some other pictures as well including some pictures of geese, a squirrel, and Roberta!!! FIND OUT WHO ROBERTA IS NOW.

So anyway, here are some pictures of my soon to be garden. It won't look like much now, but with a LOT of TLC, it'll look like something to envy.

Marigolds, petunias, and hydrenga.

more marigolds.

I tell ya, life is grand. I was growing pretty worried and down because my dream car didn't seem to be working as well as I thought it should. This morning I woke up and planted some flowers in the ground. I'll take a picture of it soon. While I was gardening I found some tiny earthworms and fed one to my fish. Even those they were baby earthworms they were still huge compared to my tropical fish, but that didn't stop them from trying to eat it. I took a picture of that too. Hopefully it'll come out okay. Then Yujin and myself went to K-Mart and picked up some jumper cables for my car. My car started right up, and I drove over to the dealer. My guages started acting all weird. When I would press the brakes, the guages would go dead. I could tell my battery was definitely taking a beating. The battery indicated on the battery itself, looked like the battery was dead. I got it to the dealer and explained the problem. They said the alternator could be bad. Getting a new one would cost more than $350. They didn't have any in stock. Just then another mechanic walked by and said, "Hey, why is this unplugged?" and plugged this connection dangling from the alternator!!! My battery was still pretty dead, and so now that the problem was fixed my car needed to be jump started. The mechanic suggested we "bump start it" since I have a manual shift. Then two of us got behind the car and pushed the car a couple of feet and the mechanic started the car while releasing the clutch and the engine started right up. It was actually kind of cool. I realized I didn't need jumper cables. But I think I'll keep them anyway just in case I need to jump start someone else. I want to bad-mouth the mechanics in the first place for making such a stupid mistake as leaving the alternator cable unplugged, but then I realize that stuff like that happens, no point getting worked up for nothing.

The connector in the yellow circle is the one the forgot to plug back in.
Oh, and another things, the mechanic tried to close my hood without removing the battery tester first, and I think might have even left a very small dent in my hood. Then again it could have been worse, so I'm not that upset. I'm glad everything is working fine now. Thank God.

Friday, April 23, 2004

My car finally did it today. It died. 2 days after taking it for it's 60K mile maintenance, it finally lit up the "check engine" light on my way back home from work. Then I popped the hood to check for obvious, stupid stuff that the mechanics might have done when I took the car in. After that the engine wouldn't start at all!!! I checked the battery, and it looks to be dead. I hope that's all it is...but my gut feeling is that it may be the alternator. I'll have to check my manual to see what conditions trip the "check engine" light. This really blows. I hope getting this fixed doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

Thursday, April 22, 2004

Alas...it's Thursday. I love Thursdays. So anyway yesterday’s stop at the auto shop costed me $350 for scheduled maintenance. Every 30,000 miles is when I hit the next big bill.

Today the Queen Mary 2 (not to be confused with the Queen Elizabeth 2) docked in NYC today after completing it’s maiden voyage. It’s the largest passenger ocean liner ever built, twice as big as the QE2, and 3 times bigger than the Titanic. I didn’t even know they had passenger ships larger than the Titanic anymore. I guess people aren’t scared anymore.

Just made my one-way ticket reservations to the lovely resort town of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I ain't coming back. I gotta flee the US. They'll have a hard time tracking me down there. I'm going to enjoy my stay in the wonderful coastal city and splurge on myself. I'm going to show woman when the Don is all about. WORK! Yup Yup...work work work. And after that I'm going to sail up to San Diego and meet up with a really good friend from college...and take a couple days vacation there.

Any suggestions on what I should do in San Diego? Unfortunately they won't be able to take time off of work, so it won't be a total riot...but it should still be a lot of fun I hope :)

Hmmm...maybe I should do the how Jay Leno thing in Burbank, CA. But that might be too much of a drive. Oooo...maybe I should visit my relatives again. I'll have to do some thinking.

Tuesday, April 20, 2004

So Monday I woke up around noon and bummed around for a couple of hours before going to work at 2pm. Woke up again with a huge headache. I had a 4-midnight shift. Didn't eat much at all that day. Basically had some oatmeal, soup, and a hotdog.

This morning I woke up and got to work around 10am. After work I stopped by Home Depot to pick up some marigolds and petunias for around the apartment. Hopefully they'll grow nice and full.

Oh found out yesterday that I'll be going on the ship again. From Puerto Vallarta to San Diego. I'm waiting to hear back from my friend that lives there if they'll be around. I hope they are. I could use a few days of vacation in California.

After getting back home from work, I cooked an Indian dish. Basically cooked the chicken, mixed in a jar of Indian sauce, can of chick peas, and sliced potatoes...even cooked Indian Basmati rice. It was pretty good, and not as spicy as I thought it would be. Obviously the sauce was made for the American palette.

Saturday I did absolutely NOTHING!!! Well that's a lie. I did ONE thing. I prepared Sunday's sermon powerpoint slides. Well I also cooked some chicken nuggets for lunch, and nuked a bowl of soup for dinner. So I guess that's three things. Oh man and it was a beautiful day too. Well I suppose the 4th thing I did was take an Advil for the splitting headache I had for sleeping in until noon. Oh shoot, I guess sleeping in counts as a 5th.

Okay okay...I'll stop. So Sunday morning I wake up and go to church. Following along Pastor Paul's sermon was kind of difficult and he even busted out the laser pointer for diagrams that he had me make. After service I went to watch a movie called The Classic. It's a Korean romantic comedy, although it got really serious and dragged out at the end. If there's one thing I'm learning about Korean movie producers. They don't know when to quit...but the quality of their films in general is getting REALLY GOOD.

After the movie, John, Edwin, and myself go to Vietnamese Restaurant in West Philly. Today was a turning point for that restaurant. I no longer see it as good food anymore. It's just okay. They leave the skin on the chicken now, which I don't like. It just seems like lazy cooking. Next thing you know, you'll be pulling the feathers off too!

After lunch we headed back to church for Praise and Worship. That lasted like 2 hours and finally came home around 8:30pm. What a long day.

Friday, April 16, 2004

Crap...in my haste to finish my tax returns I just realized something. I hope I don't get audited. STUPID STUPID STUPID!!! Why must I be so stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff. ARGH. I HATE MYSELF. I couldn't help but watch the full 2-hours of The Apprentice. I had to watch it. I had to see who won and who got fired which only left me 1 hour before the deadline. Midnight rolled past and I was still not done with my return. I figured they aren't going to penalize me for being a few minutes late...even half an hour. When I filed, I see the submition time was actually using Pacific time. Well I won't write too much more. I don't want to incriminate myself :o

Yoda turns 4 years old today. That's Yoda the genetically engineered mouse.

Genetically modified mouse celebrates fourth birthday ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — A genetically modified dwarf mouse that the University of Michigan Medical School says is the oldest of its kind has turned four, an achievement researchers say rivals a human living more than 130 years.

Yoda lives in a carefully maintained medical school lab with roughly 100 other male geriatric mice being researched as part of the school's lifespan study. An average lab mouse lives slightly more than two years.

Yoda has genetic mutations that affect his pituitary and thyroid glands and reduce insulin production, and that have made him a third smaller than an average mouse and extremely sensitive to cold.

But he still is mobile, sexually active and "looking good," said Dr. Richard A. Miller, a pathology professor and the associate director of research at the school's geriatrics center.

"We're unaware of any mouse now alive who is older than Yoda," Miller said.

Researchers are studying the genetic mutants to determine how altered hormone levels can slow the aging process, with the hope of figuring out which methods, if any, eventually could be applied to humans.

Why are these studies done with gene modification in animals? Could it be that someday knowledge gained from these studies can be applied to humans? Well DUH! So anyway I'm thinking of what people would be like if this kind of study was done on humans. And this is what I came up with. Genetically engineered humans would be very much like our present day Japanese. They are tiny people (some could argue roughly 1/3 the size of some Americans), they are sexually active people (or so the stereotype goes), and they are very mobile and averse to the cold. That's why they can be found in Hawaii. :)

Had a dream this morning about eating a dark chocolate with light chocolate creme filling donut. It tasted more like a cake though. MMmmm.

So today I get a text message from a very random person. This guy that works for the Burlington County Times leaves a message. He wanted to ask me a few questions about my weblog. My initial impression was that I said something and now I'm in the hot seat. Then rationalism slowly sunk in and I realized, I have nothing to hide. he he he.

We talked on the phone for 10 minutes about why I have a weblog. I don't think I gave him very good answers, and he said he was going to publish his article in next week's paper. One of the things I make a point to do at work, is read the Burlington County Times. I'm hooked on the Dear Abby columns.

Anyone want to go traveling? Southwest is beginning service in Philly on May 9th (according to their website), however someone told me they are already flying. Anyway they have some pretty cheap fares. Anyone feel like exploring the country? Specials end on April 15th - in 2 days. Here are a list of cities I'd like to visit.
$99 one-way, to/from Burbank, CA (to see Late Night w/Jay Leno)
$94 one-way, to/from Los Angeles, CA
$99 one-way, to/from San Diego, CA
$94 one-way, to/from Las Vegas, NV
$69 one-way, to/from Chicago Midway, IL
$49 one-way, to/from Orlando, FL

We could have so much fun. Also I just signed up for a 1GB email account on spymac.com. Check it out...that's what I'm doing.

Reading an interesting article on USAToday about music download services. I think I'm going to have to give one of them a try. Read the article Wired for sound: Music download services that rock.

I feel much better now. Didn't get into work until after 11am. And even with all that sleep last night I had a tough time fighting off the Zzzz. I woke up briefly during the night for a small midnight snack and watch a Korean DVD I borrowed from Allen and Laura called Double Agent. Some left over duk-bok-ee from last week and Ramen noodles. The movie was pretty good and the North Korean spy chick was CI-UTE!!! I think I missed some details of the movie though since I was so busy reading the subtitles.

My co-worker asked if I wanted anything from Dunkin Donuts. I asked for a med. Hazelnut coffee and French Cruller. I went to their website to see what they had on the menu. I found this link for a chance to win free coffee for a year.

I forgot to mention the other day when I went to the Chinese restaurant, that after we finished our ordinary meal, we opened up our fortune cookies. And can you imagine the excitement on my face when I broke into mine and found not 1 fortune inside. So why the excitement? Because I found 6 fortunes inside...SIX!!! And to think we were only joking about going to AC after we ate. Argh, in hindsight we should have totally went. Here were my fortunes.

Someone is speaking well of You
You are careful and systematic in your business arrangements
You are contemplateive and analytical by nature
Wish you a good journey
It is a sunny day
You constantly struggle for self improvement

Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004

uhg...I woke up at 5:15 this morning to go to church for Easter early morning service. During early morning service, for some reason the projector overheated and the projector died. As a result, I was not able to display the last couple of songs. Pastor Dwight had no idea of the malfunction, even though it looked as though he looked at the screen several times. Today posed a very credible problem we could face in the future. What if our bulb blows during service? What do we do if it overheats again. Stuff like that is completely out of my control, and so it made me realize we need to plan for such events. It was a little ironic during the whole incident. The lyrics of the song we were singing at that particular time went something like this, "And I will not stop singing of You". Pastor Dwight kept singing with conviction, just like the lyrics suggested. I must say Pastor Dwight keeps me on my toes though...switching from song to song. Absolutely confuses me sometime. Praise God though that I'm able to keep up with him even part of the time.

After early morning service we had breakfast and with just a little bit of time relax with the company of friends, we began preparing for 10AM service. That went off without a hitch. Hung around church until around 2pm. Allen and Laura, Heejin and Sujin, and myself went to The Bridge to watch Singles. It's a Korean movie which was described as the Korean Sex and the City movie. The movie was okay except for the fact that it DRAAAAAAAAGGED on like the constant dripping of a faucet. It just wouldn't end. And when it did, I ran out of the theater to the bathroom and relieve myself.

Came home and made a dinner of chicken nuggets before going to bed for a few hours. Woke up after I got a call to update the church website which is what I'm going to do next.

Finally going to bed...but maybe it's better that I don't. I have to get up in 1.5 hours anyway for Easter Early Sunrise Service. I wonder what's so significant about sunrise on Easter. I wonder if our church even has a sunrise Christmas Service or New Year's service. Sheesh...I'm not even sleepy either. I'm sure it'll hit me during service though.

Today's date is 04/11/04. I like symmetrical dates.

Saturday, April 10, 2004

Tomorrow is when our Great Redeemer died to wash away the sins of this world. Friday I was able to fast the whole day. Me and a few others though broke fast around 11pm though. I think I might have actually gone to sleep still fasting, had this gesture of self-denial was more spiritual. I remember my parents used to call it fasting-prayer, because while you fast, you are supposed to pray...but I did very little, if hardly any prayer at all. Usually I pray before I eat, but since I didn't eat anything all day, I didn't have my usual opportunity to pray either. That's a pretty sad confession huh?

Anyway I went to bed kind of late as usual. I tried to stay up watching Close Encounters (I think that's the name of the movie about flying saucers) but finally fell asleep. Not the best movie to watch right before going to bed.

So anyway I get up and work on my car for a little bit. I really enjoy spending time on my car but I wish I had more tools and better guides. After that Allen and Laura picked me up and we went to The Bridge to watch Memories of Murder. It's a Korean movie and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching that movie. It's really good and I'm surprised Koreans can put out such a good movie. Even though it's based on a true story, and deals with a serious topic, the movie was actually quite humorous. All the white people in the theater were cracking up...and they would have been laughing more if they had understood some of the smaller nuances. So anyway Laura's mother also came out to watch the movie. I didn't know Laura's mom was so hip. I'm going to have to start calling her out next time I go clubbing. ;) After the movie we went to Wong Wong, which is across the street from David's Mai-Lai-Wa in Chinatown. Wong Wong is a new place, but I don't think it was that great. Service didn't seem all there. The food was fine. They charge for extra rice (very petty). Had to ask several times for stuff, but overall I suppose it ain't a whole lot different from other places.

Got to make the sermon slides right now...get a few hours of sleep and wake up really early for 6:30AM Sunrise service.

Good Friday, April 9, 2004

DEAR ABBY: My husband, "Donald," is working out of state. Last week when I called him on his cell phone, someone picked up and said nothing -- but didn't disconnect. So for the next hour, I listened to my husband in a bar with another woman. I heard laughing, talking and glasses clinking. I heard them leave together to have dinner. Then the battery died. I am hurt to the core. Donald swears nothing happened, that she was just his ride. I'm trying hard to believe him, but when I question him further, he becomes upset and defensive. His answers -- or lack of them -- have destroyed my heart and soul.
Why can't Donald say the right things to take my hurt away? Why doesn't he understand? Abby, am I wrong to be so upset? -- DISCONNECTED IN DEER PARK

When I read stuff like this, it makes me seriously worry about myself in the future. Not because this "Donald" shares my name, but it sounds so easy for men to stray.

Anyway I've decided to make my pets fast too. ha ha ha. Aren't I mean! Well I think my roommate will probably feed them anyway.

Thursday, April 8, 2004

There's this quiet chinese girl that works in our building. At one point me and my cubemate talked about her quiet often. We would see who could elicit a response from her. We have aptly labeled her "quiet girl". Yeah I know...we have no imagination or creativity. I've passed by her several times in the hall be she never makes eye contact so it's kind of hard to say Hi. I know, I know, my presence intimidates her, that's why she can't look directly at me. My cubemate has told me several instances where she has said Hi to him though. Sometimes they even "talk". So anyway it was like that until today.

She stopped just outside our cube and noticed my fish tank. BOOOYAAA!!! I finally caught her attention!!! We chit-chatted for a little bit. Man I'm so smooth. Dang. How can this day go bad? Won-ho move aside, looks like a new STUD is in town. Ha ha ha :D j/k

Wednesday, April 7, 2004

Yesterday was a very interesting day. After work, I left to pick Allen and Laura up from their place to go to the movie theaters. We went to go watch Lady Killer. Shao didn’t want to drive his car too, and said he’s meet me at Allen and Laura’s apartment. We waited for about 10 minutes for him to show up…which made us late. It’s not really a big deal though since they usually play previews before hand. I take Betsy Ross Bridge which puts us directly on to I-95 a lot faster than taking Tacony Bridge. Just as I merge onto I-95, I see a cop just a few cars up. I merge onto I-95 and follow a white Jeep Cherokee passing on the left side. You could tell all the other cars were too AFRAID to pass this cop, but the dude is going like 60 mph which is slow for the usual 75mph I-95 traffic. Just as we pass the cop, I see it’s a Philadelphia city cop and it puts me at ease a little. I make fun of the whole line of cars in my rear view mirror that’s too afraid to pass the cop. I eventually gain distance on him. As we are driving along we are all having a great laugh about this and that. We are constantly laughing about something. I passed the cop a while back and I’m still trying to get to the theater as fast as I can without going too much faster than traffic. I’m passing a car here and there, but not really speeding. I’m on the right lane, and I see the lane designated as an exit-only lane, so I signal to get into the lane to my left, but before I can change lanes, I see an “extra” lane to my right, so I think that is the exit-only lane. So I continue in the lane I’m in already in, but a little further up I see the car in front of me suddenly cut into the lane to his left. The reason why he did that is because the exit-only lane (that we were in) is actually a 2-lane exit. I do the same. A little further up is where all the laughs begin. We see this riced-out Honda Del-Sol. The big wing in the back and body kit almost hid the fact that it was a Del Sol. This guy was kind of going slow too, so I begin to pass him on the left, but just as I pull up to it, I downshifted to match his speed, and then gas it to pull away from him like I wanted to race him. All of us burst out in laughter. I guess it was kind of punk thing to do, but I still wasn’t going too fast. As we are all having our laughs, I see a cop, the same cop, right behind me. I thought I had pulled far ahead of him. I wasn’t too worried, but driving a red sports car, I knew he was going to pull me over. Sure enough I see the lights flash. I ask why he pulls me over and he tells me I was speeding. I was like WHAT!?!??! I was going just as fast as traffic. I was passing some cars here and there, but not that much faster. He tells me I was just over 70 in a 45 mph construction zone. He told me that he had his eye on me ever since I passed him and he didn’t like that. He was looking for reasons to pull me over. Ha ha ha. I had just merged onto I-95 when I passed him, and so I couldn’t have known at that point the construction zone speed was 45mph. Then he told me I was driving carelessly when I “suddenly” cut into the lane on my left, but I told him it was because of the double-lane exit-only which confused me. Usually exits are only a single lane. I beg him not to give me a ticket but he gives me one anyway. My FIRST TIME getting pulled over for a moving violation. He comes back with a $100 ticket, but without points.

We get to the movies really late and decide to skip the movie. We walk through Franklin Mills Mall and eat dinner and shop. We make our way to Jillian’s and find out they have a $10 Tuesday special. Play all the games you want from 9pm -1am (including billiards, but excluding ticket games).

Ever wonder if all Kangaroos have pouches? Well they don't. Only the female Kangaroos have pouches. The male Kangaroos are called Boomers. But you knew that right? ;)

Today I just slept in. I felt I deserved it though due to day-lights savings, but also because the last couple of days I just haven't been feeling in tip-top shape. My appetite has suffered. Yesterday I passed up steak because I just didn't feel like eating. So just my roommates had steak. It smelled really good but smoked up the apartment like a Korean bar full of smokers. Also I have a canker sore right next to my top right wisdom tooth. It came out, but angled slightly outward into my cheeks and so occassionly the constant rubbing wears my cheek thin.

CMU made it in the news again. The Tartan

Just booked tickets for the Conan O'Brien Show for Nov. 16th. I'll have to take a day off work to go, but it's a once in a life time experience. I got tickets last year, but a business trip come up and I was unable to go. I gave my tickets to someone else though and they ENJOYED the show. If you want to reserve tickets then call (212)664-3056. It's free and you got nothing to lose.

Ever wonder how the shell of a shellfish is made? Well wonder no more.

The blood of a mollusk is rich in a liquid form of calcium. A soft, outer organ called the mantle concentrates the calcium in areas where it can separate out from the blood, forming calcium carbonate crystals. The mantle deposits sheets of the crystal in varying thicknesses. The individual crystals in each layer vary in shape and orientation.

See...this website can be edjucational as well as entertainimal too.

Just heard the bad news today. Some 90 employees at our business unit got their 2-week notice. I think it's very odd that they gave the bad news on a Monday. I was told this kind of thing usually happens on a Friday to give people time over the weekend to cool off and digest the news. Those that were let go, were non-represented (non-union) employees...but was told the review process was going to be expanded to unionized employees (such as myself) as well in the future. I'm waiting for my "bad" news to come...because the very first thing I'll do is book 1-way tickets to Korea. Someone brought up the fact that our company is posting profits, so it's confusing why these lay-offs are occurring.

BTW...forgot to give honorable mention to Ed Lee for his sweet potato casserole that he cooked from scratch even though he did come 2 or 3 hours late to the dinner. Thanks Ed.

Sunday, April 4, 2004

Today's date is 04/04/04. Kind of a neat date I guess. I only had like 4 hours of sleep due to staying up late to finish the sermon slides. Then lost an hour of sleep due to day light savings.

During service I kind of slipped up on the slides. The congregation was going over the response reading where the pastor asks the questions, then the congregation responds. Normally the slides have the questions and response reading on the same slide. However during service I accidentally advanced the slide too early to the next question, which left the congregation without anything to read. I realized what I had done, and switched back to the original slide but seconds seemed like minutes as Pastor Young looks at the bewilderment on the congregation's faces. Just as I had corrected the problem, Pastor Young looks back at the screen to see what's going on, so now he's completely confused why the congregation just stopped responding. I felt so bad and P. Young so confused. On top of that I'm trying to train a new guy, and he slipped up a few times, so the overall quality of the sermon might have suffered.

After church I went to work to check email and screw around a little bit. Then went grocery shopping. Came back home and was feeling too tired from lack of sleep but also my body just felt a little off. That queasy feeling you get before you get SICK. I hope I'm not getting sick. Took a nap for a little while and then cooked dinner. I made Salmon cakes, and shrimp something for our pot-luck dinner. I thought we had skewers at home, but apparently we didn't so I just put them on a baking sheet and baked them in marinate. People started to come over and they had originally asked what everyone else was going to bring. I told them not to worry about it and bring whatever you wanted (as most potlucks are just a medley of different foods). Pil was the first one, and he had brought duk-bok-ee. Originally he wasn't really going to bring anything, but luckily his mom had just cooked it earlier that day for lunch. Then Laura and Allen came with a GI-NORMOUS plate of duk-bok-ee. A little later on, Scott and Debbie arrived with a party platter of whatelse??? MORE DUK-BOK-EE!!! Next time I guess I'll have to plan this out a little better. Time to go to bed. Ahhh what a long day.

Saturday, April 3, 2004

Friday night, I stayed late trying to figure out how to get the DVD player to work with the projector. Figured it out with In and Ed's help. Thanks guys. Got home but didn't go to bed until 4am. This morning I just slept in. Woke up around noon and went out to my car to work on it. Figured out how to partially install the indiglow gauges, but not sure what power source to use. I don't have installation instructions so any help would be appreciated. My punk brother didn't give me the instructions and when I tried to call him he didn't return my calls. Drove to K-Mart to pick up some electrical stuff without any of my instrument guages. That's when I realized I could unhook the cable in the back and keep the milage on my car WAY WAY down...ha ha ha. After that went to Phileo's bowling tourney at Baker Lanes. My team did pretty well. I bowled a 84 the first game and a 136 the second time.

I found out today I'm not going on my trip to Colombia. I got cut, because of funding issues. The can now only afford to bring "essential personnel". Oh well. This news the day after I reserved my non-refundable one-way ticket to Colombia. Good thing I didn't book my hotel room which would have been non-refundable as well...or the one-way non-refundable return trip from Puerto Vallarta.

I really like my portable DVD player but now I don't think I have so much use for it. I certainly won't be needing it on the day long trip to Colombia, or on the two week underway on the ship anymore. It does play mpegs though, which is cool because then I can burn CD-R's of my favorite shows. I tried it with the Korean drama series that I've been recording (but haven't really been watching) everyday.

So anyway it's been raining all day today. It sucks but thank God for April showers, because they bring May flowers. I gotta get cracking on planting my garden.

I went to Wal-Mart after work. I got the Initial portable DVD. I decided to get the small 4.2" screen...because I like how compact it is. It's literally the size of a CD player...when they were first introduced.

I tested it out and it's cool. I think I'm going to keep it. If I'm not fully satisfied, I have up to 90 days to return it for a full refund. It even plays VCDs. Supposedly it plays regular mpegs. Now I'd be REALLY impressed if it plays DVR-MS files.

I got fired today!!! It was handed down by the CIO at corporate. Apparently I had clicked onto an attachment that had a virus and brought down our computer network for a few hours, and he found out about it. They were really upset. Pshaw...whatever. I know it was a lame attempt at the obligatory prank for today.

I reserved my tickets for my trip to Colombia. If any of you would like any packages picked up in Colombia, let me know. ;) Yeah right. I'm very interested in getting a portable DVD player now. Someone text messaged me today and told me to check out Initial portable DVD players. They don't look that bad. I'm going to go to Wal-mart after this and see if they have any on display there. I got to check them out and see how good they are...then it's off to Top Dog to meet up with some co-workers.

Here's something to keep you preoccupied during those down times at work. the letter game. Won Ho, let's see how good you are at this game. If memory serves me correct, you are a hunt and pecker.

I read this article on the news. It just amazes me what people do in this world.

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- A California man has pleaded guilty to residential burglary after he set up a meeting with a woman on a rape fantasy Internet chat page, but instead broke into a different woman's apartment. Michael Todd Howard, 35, pleaded guilty in a court in San Diego Tuesday in return for an expected sentence of one year in jail and probation, prosecutors said. According to court documents, last September, Howard broke into the home of a woman with whom he thought he had set up an encounter on what was described as a "rape fantasy" chat site. After he entered the wrong apartment, he hit and struggled with the 25-year-old woman inside, who told law enforcement officials she thought she was going to be killed. The victim stopped the attack by yelling and attacking Howard's testicles. Howard then asked for the name the victim used in the chat room and she responded by saying she had never visited a chat room and did not have a personal computer.
