Surroundings/Habitat
Salamanders are flexible when it comes to their habitats.  Some spend their life entirly in water (aquatic),  some all of their life on land (terrestrial), and some on both (semi-aquatic).  Most adults hibernate under rocks and logs during by day and become active and feed by night.  Salamanders are mostly found in the Northern Hemisphere.  They are not found in Austrailia or south of the Sahara Desert in Africa, and are rare in South America.
