Updated the site to link to the New Warren page as well as include the Ambassador suites.Since the Warren’s expansion and beginning of the Quest War, a new cavern has been needed to house the growing number of dragon riders. Above this cavern is a castle, named Drakmor by its inhabitants.
Castle Drakmor rests on a cliff overlooking Sapphire ocean, spiralling turrets lending the perfect view at sunset. A central tower rises above the others, used by the mages for their studies. The bulk of the castle belongs to the knights and riders. Both magick and sword play are seen here, sometimes exchanged by willing students. The outer rock walls are made from the hard stone of the mountain, deemed perfect for building by the stead-fast dwarves. Inside, graceful marble columns decorate the elegant rooms which are formed to the tastes of those who inhabit them. While the knights like their solid stone barracks, the wizards prefer twisting, prism coloured corridors.
This solid, dwarven built castle is only the topmost point of a much larger structure. Within the sturdy mountain walls extends a maze of caverns and tunnels. Each tunnel has been carved out to allow dragon passage, stretching 40 ft. in diameter in the largest tunnel. The rock walls support narrow alcoves which reach up to the roof and curve over to the other side. Within the alcoves rest giant wall torches, casting enough light onto the glittering sand ground for travellers to make their way with ease. The ceiling itself is almost egg-shaped, reaching the peak of its dome at 60 ft. Sparkling jewels glitter at the top of each alcove dome, hidden until the traveller is directly beneath them. These multi-coloured jewels enhance the warm light of the cavern by casting their reflected glow onto the flat ground beneath. At the entrance and exit of each tunnel is a solid, marble archway. Odd markings are etched into the top part of the arch. For those skilled in the common tongue of Tris’Hath, they would read out directions.
The caverns themselves vary greatly depending on their usage. Most are simply rock walled lairs designed for the dragons and their riders. Many of these such caverns open up to the mountain wall, allowing for the dragons to take flight right from their front doors. Other caverns, deep below the dens, are fitted to human sizes. Some of them are kitchens, dining rooms, and entertainment rooms. The most impressive, though, is the bathing chamber (explained in the tour). While the dragons use the chill lakes spread sparsely across the mountain top and the warm, ocean waters to bath, the humans prefer this oddly formed, natural cavern.
The largest cavern is the Council Chamber, built as the front entrance for the underground caves. It could be termed the heart of the mountain dwellings, being a meeting place for dragons, humanoids and other creatures. It was here that the cavern was named by the Order of the MagickBlade as ‘New Warren.’
A tour can be given of the most important rooms. To see all of them would be impossible since many are still being discovered daily. Below is a list of options. Choose well or you might find yourself lost within the snaking tunnels.
