Fae, the Keeper and Guardian of the Forest, raises her arms over her head in concentration. After a few moments, she begins to mutter under her breath. The words are soft, and they slip over your ears. It is as if you are hearing them from under a veil of water. You think that if you could hear them, it wouldn't matter, becuase you could never understand them. As Fae chants, a small pin prick of light appears before her. With each word Fae speaks, the dot of light grows, and grows untill it becomes the size and shape of a large door. The elf's words become stronger and the glowing door way dissapears. You frown, but say nothing, for Fae is still chanting. The space where the light had been suddenly begins to waver. It trembles and shimmers as if a great heat was rising out of the ground causing marages. You gasp and take a step back when the shimmering air begins to melt. The air drips and oozes down to the ground where it dissapears. With each drop of air that melts, the background comes with it. It is as if Fae is melting a hole through reality itself. "Now, hurry on through. I don't have all day!" The elf says impacently. You appoligize for standing and gauking, then hurry though the gateway. You pause while Fae steps through the gateway to take in your surroundings. You are standing in a huge forest. The trees tower high above you, the first branches far out of your reach. Every tree and plant you can see are in prime helth. Not a spot of sickness or yellowing. Every plant is helthy. If you hadn't seen it with your own eyes, you would have thought it imposible. On top of that animals of all kinds are about. Birds of all kinds cry out from the trees, filling the air with their songs. Little forest animals scurry in the under brush. A few pause to look at the new commers, but then move on. You are amazed. First the plants, then the fact that the animals are all in such good helth and are compleatly unafaird of you. As if they are sure something will protect them. "Well," Fae says, breaking into your thoughts. "I will leave you here. I have some other things to take care of, so I will see you later. Have fun!" She says, and then steps back into the gateway, leaving you alone. Something snaps off to your right, and you spin around, looking for the sound. You find yourself facing a fairy. His wings are a dark grey, like metal, or smoke. His eyes and hair are a rich deep brown. His blue shirt has raged sleves, and the lacing in the front hangs undone. He pants are a dark grey, and his boots black. He stands, one hand on his hip, looking at you. You don't say anything, wondering what to do. Finally, the fairy speaks. "My name is Thorne. And you are..." You give your name, but he shows no sign of hearing it. "Are you here to see Anry?" You nod, wondering if Anry is the dragon. "Then follow me." You hurry behind the fairy as he walks quickly into the forest. You hurry to keep up. Finally you come to a small clearing. Sitting there is a very beautiful dragon. She blends in very well with her surroundings. Her whole body is patterened with leaves. Her long legs and tail are curled around or under her body. Her wings are a dark shade of green. She gazes at you with yellow eyes. "Hello human. I expect that you did not destroy any life while you were blundering through my forest." You swallow and shake your head no. "Good." She pauses for a moment, gazing at you. "My name is Anry, and I am a green earth dragon from Lantern Light Dragons. I was abanonded by my former bondmate, and was adopted by Deborah. Though she may be human, she is very kind, and has great respect for the forest and it's inhabitents." She pauses again. "I asume you can find your way out." You nod, and take your leave from the forest... |
