The Angel and the Rose |
![]() |
I sensed a difference late one night And a rose from my bed before daylight Walked into every single room, And to my surprise, I saw in the gloom An angel child with a very large rose Standing in the room in which I chose To enter, and I was astonished to see That she had brought the rose to me. She was a darling angel child, One who was loving so mild. She walked towards me, and as I looked, Handed me the rose, then she took Her hand touched my arm, It was so soft and filled with warm Love to impart unto my soul, And then she tried to console me, For I had started to cry With love for her, and I tried To hold her in my arms, But she eluded me, as I cried, Oh, angel child, do not leave, For you are filled with such sweetness That I would grieve for the love you give To me, and love for all the world to see. After she handed me the rose She left, and no one knows Why she came, except just me, For I needed that rose from Calvary. My Jesus, who is always ear To each and everyone who believes He is the risen son of th living God, you see. Please believe in him? asks the angel child, He is so very meek and mild, His lovely fire he gave for all to be With him in heaven for eternity. |
